cellphones and GPS

there are just too many phones out there. Im looking for a phone that has gps functionality. dont try vodacom's website, they just suck. mtn sucks as well and i dont even wanna try cellc. so far ive come up with a few nokia models and htc and few pocket pcs. im looking for opinions. anyone who ownes a gps cellphone/pda please help me out with the model and make. and maybe u can give ure opinion on the cellphone. that be great. thanx alot people :)
 
Ha ha not much to go on there as stated by GTi. Also you are not leaving us much choice... no Vodacom, no MTN, and no Cell C?

So who are you going to use if I may ask? I'm assuming Virgin?
 
If GPS is most important to you and your budget is limited, then you can't go wrong with the Nokia 6110 Navigator. I've been using it for the past 10 month's or so, and still find the GPS amazing. Good luck.

on what contract did you get the nokia on SoTrue? memory on the phone and sound quality? the screen is not very big.

do you enjoy the htc? does it have any flaws according to you? what is the payment on the topup 300? you probably had to pay some cash in right?

I got the Nokia 6110 Navigator "free" on a Vodacom Business Call (per second) contract - no pay-in, no gift either.

Internal memory is 40 MB, memory card that came with the phone 500 MB. Sound quality for me is very good, but I am not into using it as a music player.

The screen is OK for me. When using the GPS, I tend to rely on the voice commands.
 
Need it be said N95 8GB or Tytn II.

I'm very happy with my N95, I have heard a complaint about the Tytn (I)'s screen in bright conditions (daytime driving), not sure if that is resolved on the II.

N95's screen is bright enough for daytime viewing, no hassles with GPS lock.
 
I have a TYTN II with TomTom loaded, works very well, even in daylight ( its got voice prompts, and i am using the Ozzy Osbourne uncensored version:), really funny ).

The htc p3300 is great. Never had problems with it. When i got it in december i did not get the navogon software with it butt that was sorted out by leaf. The gps is very good. I installed navigon and tomtom on it. Very nice. Garmin is a bit on the slow side. Email is great. camera is great. Price R324 topup 300 and i did not pay in anything

I'm actualy an ericsson fan, and if i wantet to wait i would go for the X1. It's still on the upcomming list, but when it'll come im not sure. thats a bitchin phone i tell you. also gps etc and great specs. the reason why Im suddenly interested in the n95 is that is has very decent specs, and is a great multipurpose phone. I havent checked out the N82 yet so I'll go have a look at the specs. Any other gps recommendations?

So you pay R325 per month for a top u p contract and did not pay in cash in? thats decent. Any downside to your phone? did you pay alot for your navigon/tomtom?

On what contract is this? pay anything in?
 
Any comments one the samsung SGH-560? See the phone has been discontinued and got some bad reviews. But looks like a cool phone though...
