centOS mirror in .za?

Does anyone know a mirror for CentOS here locally?

I have an ftp session running at 2KB/sec, eta for the first out of three .iso files is over 50 hours .. that's a mirror in Germany.

That's with 2 bars of 3G coverage.

It's just I need to get CentOS 3.4, I should have been more specific ;)
 
Ok, I thought it was like some nifty magical s/w that one had to have for one's cellery phone - similar to Symbian...:D
 
Lately the 3G switches to GPRS most of the time, even from 2 bars 3G it switches down to 4 or 3 bars GPRS. (with antenna)

All night I had it run, and all I could do was 40 MB of the first .iso. The connection disconnected completely at some stage, apart from timeouts with the ftp servers.

At the moment its just staying on GPRS and won't connect to 3G again, so I get timeouts even just trying to resume an ftp transfer. Also timeouts trying to connect to ftp.sun.ac.za.

I was planning to use this months 1GB mainly for downloading that stuff, it looks like the 1GB are going to be wasted for the most part.

I'll have to look at the local websites that offer you to order the distributions on CD.
 
Yes, use a "3G only" profile. That's what I had to do. It's stops the dash from trying to switch all the time.

I now always get a 3G connection.
 
It was the first thing I thought of and I actually tried it a while ago and it would not let me create a second profile. "Step 3" select the service you would like to use, the pull-down menu is always empty.

Make: Novatel Wireless
Model: Merlin U630
Service: nothing can be selected, list empty.
 
Hmmm, as ic always say 'that shouldn't happen'....

I've got about 20 profiles on my dashboard, 3 cards x 3 modes x 3 APN's.

What version of the dash are you running? I'll PM you.
 
goodgirl : if you want, I have the iso's and can probably open a ftp site for you, or if you are in the cape town area you can come and pickup a copy.
have to mention I am using Centos 4

v3g, I will pm you, too - cause the V5 of the dashboard - I cant run the setup.exe, some dll missing
