I didn't use my vehicle for two weeks and the battery ran down. Friend came around, tried jump and also swap batteries, etc. Now I have my own battery back, charged, but central locking does not work at all (alarm still works). Any ideas on what the problem can be? Thanks.

It may not be synchronised any more.

Look on the internet for your model on how to synchronise. Or take it to a dealer for that make.

Do you not have a spare remote ? Does that work ?

Maybe a blown fuse caused by the jumpstart?

^^ This. Did you guys jumpstart correctly? Are you sure matched positive to positive each time? Is it possible you may have crossed it and caused a short? I've been in the same situation before (poorly marked battery, cross-wired it by mistake, but was "taught" how to identify positive and negative by the bigger and smaller battery terminals).

You may have damaged your alarm unit. The alarm unit sends the lock and unlock signal when you press the button on the remote. What car and what alarm system is it?

You can try disconnecting and reconnecting on of the battery terminals again, also check fuses & relays.

What brand & model car is this?

If it is only the auto up/down not working you should do a full up and down before it works. I had that ones when I disconnected the battery on my Corsa, auto up/down needs to be "reset" by going all the way up and down.
