Has anyone purchased a certified pre-owned iPhone? What was your experience with the product like?

I did... couldn't see any difference from a brand new one. All the accessories (brand new) was also there. It is as if you are buying a new phone, just with used insides. It also get's a fresh warranty, so if something breaks they fix it.

I don't know why they don't do this with all phones.

I did however return it, but it had nothing to do with the phone, the 5s was just too small for me.

I bought a 5s a month ago, also CPO, was a bit skeptical at first, but after consulting a friend that works in the industry decided to take a chance.
You won't be able to tell the difference between this and a brand new phone, comes in a sealed box with everything. Only difference is there is branding on the box to say its a CPO device.
Been using it for a month so far, absolutely no issues, really good value for money.

My question is how they do get so many CPO phones..where do they come from?

Vodacom has been offering trade in deals for years. My moms traded in her blackberry a few years back and my wife and I have both traded in our iphones at the istore on our last upgrade. R5k cash transferred into my bank account for my iphone 5 and R4k into my wifes for hers as it was in slightly worse condition than mine.

My sister got an 5S CPO on upgrade, if we didn't know it was an CPO we would be none the wiser. The charger, USB cable and earphones are new, and the phone itself is packaged exactly the same as a new one (stickers you have to pull off, etc) - it basically has the new "feel" to it. It really looks and feels like a new one.

It also has a new battery installed, and according to a regional manager of the cell shop where we did the upgrade, it is almost better than a new one because a lot of quality control / testing went into the internal components

Hi guys, have all CPO phones been given new batteries? read online that only outer body has been replaced with new casing

Got my daughter a 5S in April 2016. Still working fine today. No problems, no issues.

I know 2 or 3 people who baught iPhone 5s and 6 CPO's on my advice and all of them are still running no problems.

Hi, question was. Do they get new batteries before resold ?

Yes, new batteries new front and back covers.

New chargers and cables in box too.

Same warranty and everything.

Can't go wrong with this. It's an official Apple supplied product just like buying one new.

Apple Certified Refurbished

We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a 1-year warranty.
All refurbished iPhone models also include a brand new battery, new outer shell and a new white box.
Supply is limited and availability is guaranteed once we receive your full payment.

There are some minor differences between CPO and Certified Refurbished, like the CPO gets a new IMEI number and is packaged as a brand new phone.

But ultimately it goes through all the same testing as a brand new iPhone and therefore carries the same warranty.

Just recently purchased the IPhone XS MAX. Had the most terrible experience due to the fact that I was not able to even restart my phone. They told me that I couldn’t enter any new Apple ID because the phone is full. Now I have to return it and it was a birthday present for my little sister. I am so disappointed that I’m even thinking of wanting a refund because I’m scared that I might experience the same thing again
