CES 2026

I used to like Cutress, but he did become an industry shill. Look, he knows what he is talking about, but he is also a PR plant.

"Nvidia didn't announce anything for gamers"
"Amd didn't announce anything for gamers"
"Intel didn't announce anything for gamers"

"why is it all ai ai ai""waaaaaaaaaah here's multiple vids of me going waaaaah why aren't I the focus"

Perhaps not everything is about you?

Those observing the developments at CES aren't wrong. Cutress is right, CES isn't all about the consumers anymore.

What is CES about, hmmm, let's quote them:

About CES

CES® is the most powerful tech event in the world — the proving ground for breakthrough technologies and global innovators.

CES is the Global Stage for Innovation

This is where brands get business done, meet new partners and where the industry’s sharpest minds take the stage to unveil their latest releases and boldest breakthroughs.

Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, CES is the only trade show that showcases the entire tech landscape at one event.

CES showcases companies including manufacturers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, technology delivery systems and more. It also includes a conference program where the world's business leaders and pioneering thinkers address the industry's most relevant issues.

Consumer segmentation is not simply household end users. In the enterprise business, they break it down into product leadership models, but then you look at ownership. In a simple 2-tier model, you have household consumers and you have business consumers. Household is personal use, and business is operational use.

What is changing at CES is that the enterprise business has become layered. We now have multiple enterprises in a chain to provide a service to an end user. A service is still a product. Users who subscribe to a content service, an AI service, an autonomous service, or any service, are still consumers. Here Cutress is right, but it is still about the consumers.

Not all consumers are gamers. Yes, gamers are being ignored, but gamers aren't where the money is right now. The corporate narrative will communicate the mindshare that is so desired.

Now, that said, there were some exciting gaming products announced. Some were also attached with services that could give you an advantage in gaming. The need, the NEED FOR AI. This will be the nail that will be hammered up until it is normalised. It could take 5 more years, until the end users accept it as normal.

Consumers aren't the trend leaders. Thought leaders are mostly, all, on payroll.

If a water bottle with a fan on top made it to the best of CES, that tells you all you need to know...

The company name is Pioneer. Odd niche though. I don't see that product being all too durable here where we live with all the wind, dust, and sand.
