Lol, they couldn't bother to have anything fixed as they promised, so I doubt they will notice a neat hole. I also bought a blank cover plate to cover the hole if they don't want to use it for the Fibre's Ethernet or something that is on the other side.

Sheesh.... :ROFL:

Sorry for the delayed response.
I'll be honest, I've only seen a quick demo of the Chadha unit myself, but it performed really well. I'll be monitoring this thread so if you have any specific questions, please feel free to post

Been using them for years. I'm happy. Got two different models, including the one you refer to.

No, the fan is usually off. Both of my units are quiet. No buzzing either. The fan only comes on when it recharges the batteries. The fans are not too loud (subjectively-speaking, however I am someone who does not like noise of kind so if I'm happy with it then I'm sure most people would be). The unit I use directly is in another room though (away from my equipment), however I'm sure I wouldn't mind it being next to me. The only annoying thing is the beeping when the electricity goes out; however, that only lasts for a few minutes and then it goes silent.

Thanks for the replies. I am still un decided but probably looking at either the Rentech or Mecer Axpert models. Longevity and backup probably better as pointed out by The Champ, and better battery types.
The Rentech output of 1000w is a bit lower than the Mecer 1200w, but it is also less expensive.

Mecer is what you are aiming for, that's the generally better brand in terms of aftersales support.

Forgive my ignorance, but if the approx back up time for a 500VA load on a single 100Ah 12V battery is 112min, is it fair to say that the time should be doubled with 2 100Ah 12V batteries?

Howzit, haven't sold too many in the past few months, but I think that is because of their incompatibility with lithium batteries. When we tested it on Hubble lithiums, the voltage kept jumping up and down while charging - was very weird.

The non lithium compatibility is why I scrubbed considering Chadha.
