Some changes to the draw which is going to make things interesting. The draw is tomorrow.

Following a change in the regulations, pot 1 for the draw will now be formed entirely of the holders of the competition as well as the winners of the top seven domestic leagues in Europe.

This means the league winners from England, Germany, Italy, Portugal, France, Russia and the Netherlands will all make up the first pot, alongside competition holders Barcelona, who also won the Spanish title last season.

The new system means that Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United - should they qualify - all face the daunting prospect of drawing the likes of Barca, Bayern Munich and Juventus, with Chelsea looking to avoid Real Madrid - who find themselves in pot 2 despite boasting a higher UEFA coefficient ranking than any other team in the competition.

Here is the pots so far taking into account that tonights fixtures will still play a part.

Pot 1: Barcelona, Chelsea, Bayern MĂĽnchen, Juventus, Benfica, Saint-Germain, Zenit and PSV Eindhoven.

Pot 2: Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, FC Porto, Arsenal, Manchester City

Pot 2 or 3: Sevilla, Olympique Lyonnais, Dynamo Kyiv

Pot 3: Olympiacos, Galatasaray

Pot 3 or 4: Roma, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Wolfsburg

Pot 4: Gent

United should slot into pot 2 if the manage to avoid a 2-0 loss tonight. :p

huh? Why is RM in pot 2? While PSG, Zenit and PSV in pot 1? NVM champions in pot 1... but would it be possible to Draw Barca and RM/AM in the same group?

Oh I forgot to mention Liverpool is in Pot 2......of the Europa League. :p:D

teams from the same country cannot be drawn in the same group

Coz we won jack all last season.

Think one of the rules is that Madrid/Barca can't meet before the semi's or something like that. Not sure if this rule has changed.

LFC not there :(

Hopefully UTD get kicked out tonight :D

no the rule was clubs from the same country can't meet until the QF, after that, fair game.

Why should they have been?

2005. Liverpool won the champions league, finished outside the top 4 in England, that meant the holders of the competition wouldn't be in a position to defend their trophy. UEFA allowed 5 nations from England in that season ( Chelsea, United, Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool). Unfortunately, or maybe not :D, Everton lost in the qualifiers and didn't make it to the group stage, if they did England would have been the first country to field 5 teams in a single season of the champions league.
