Change a name for an SAA ticket

We recently booked a flight for my sister on SAA, but gave the incorrect surname (her maiden name).

We need to change this, but it looks like SAA charges $450 for a name change.

Is there a cheaper way to change a name on an international SAA ticket?

I did the same thing for SafAir once, they requested a copy of the marriage certificate and her ID.
We discovered the mistake at the check-in counter.

SAA might accept the same.
