In the house I just bought, there are two bathrooms. The ensuite has just a bath, and the second a bath and shower. Since me and the SO both NEVER bath, we want to change the ensuite into a shower!

Do you think it will f.up the resale of the house? (changing 2 baths, 1 shower to 2 showers and 1 bath?). We plan to live there for 7+ years, so at this point more focused on our needs than resale.

Who would do such a thing for us? I thought we would need a builder of some sort, but it's a fairly small project. I would think we need to cut out or break out the bath (it's a standard size porcelain job) and replace it with a nice biiig shower. Matching the tiles are a problem, but the floor will be mosaic and we can carry that half way up the shower wall (to bath height). My plan is to make the shower the entire length and width of where the bath was.

Next issue is a shower door? We could probably just get a frameless glass jobbie, as most of the walls of the shower will be the actual walls of the bathroom, with just 2 sides needing glass coverage.

Approximate budget? (very roughly)

well you could always convert the bath into a bath shower combination, and add a curtain or piece of glass...

Why not just shower in the second bathroom? Otherwise Peder's idea works. We had this in our old flat and it worked well. Not the same as a proper shower but then at least the bath was there when you wanted to soak after a day of sport etc.

There is a school of thought that you eliminate a certain portion of the market by only having a shower.

Then why not just put a glass sliding door above the bath & install a shower head? This way you have a shower & a bath minus the complications you described above.

We dont really want to do the in-bath-shower idea... I've used one a couple of times at hotels, and hate it.

My idea is more a very large, awesome, luxury shower!

We always will have the bath in the other bathroom...
