changing from ABSA to FNB

Hahaha that was weird
I wanted to take a screenshot on my phone of all my accounts
And the phone tunes me this app does not allow screenshots
Wow
I thought you could screenshot anything on a phone
Also noticed that.

You're allowed to take screenshots on the app, but not at that particular screen for some reason.

Are you sure you even qualify for Ebucks?

ie, you deposit the minimum monthly amount, accounts in good standing etc.
Yes, I use to be Level 5 just over a year ago
Now Im level 2, still earn the same
And I am not getting ebucks back from Engen nor Checkers

I really don't get ebucks, in my opinion it's all smoke and mirrors, when the old explorers came to new lands, they gave the locals Shiney cheap beads and other fancy things, so they gained " a welcome" all while plundering the resources in the background. nothing is free, especially from a bank, someone somewhere is paying for it.

But that's just me, quit FNB, standard bank, and quite happy with Capitec, used it all over the world with no issues.
That was a little bit of a weird comparison. I, for one, like getting the rewards for free. I can save up my ebucks and use them to pay all the fuel for my Christmas holidays every year. The banks are happy to have these reward schemes because it encourages certain behaviour - like getting more products with the bank. I'm doing so anyway, so why not benefit?

Use rewards as in bank smartly (and Fnb... to Absa and SB even Nedbank gave them)

Its not about jumping through hoops, its about planning shopping

You need fuel? Why not get rebated
If you rent, you can get perks by paying your landlord.
You need to buy food, we are after-all human

At the end of the day, get rewarded, thats the bottom line

Some of the ways of scoring points helps with problems areas in banking. For example, rewarding cash-at-till withdrawals instead of ATMs helps firstly with reducing the amount of cash shops carry, helps consumers with the risk of using ATMs, and reduces the number of standalone ATMs the bank needs to manage.

Encouraging app banking over using a computer helps the bank (and the consumer) because the security is better.

Totally worth the account fees. And I'm not a big spender. There are people here on the forum that makes a lot more.
Very nice.

I am on PC and Level 5, and only get on average half that per month. Still totally worth it though.
Driving less has probably played quite a role too over the last 18 months

... Are you'll really getting the value from these bank accounts (eBucks, credit, home/car loans, etc)?...
Yes.

Smoke and mirrors? I disagree.

Ironically, I am busy closing my FNB Private Client account and opened a Capitec. Sick of FNB crazy account fees.
You're doing something wrong

@Speedster Mind sharing your qualifying actions and products, other than spending, that get you to level you are on?

There's an easy to use calculator on the eBucks website. Only "extra" thing I had to do with the new rules (i.e. something I wouldn't normally do anyway) is put some funds in an offshore account.

You can deposit at the till too. I often do. I'll rather pay R20 to deposit +-R3k (200m from my house) than drive to a bank much further away.
