Hi guys,

Does anyone know if I can change my Vodacom contract phone number? I've had my current number for 8 years and want it changed - too many unwanted calls.

I still want to keep the contract, but just change the number.

Thanks!

Don't think You can, not on an existing contract. You'll have sign up for a new contract, and wait for the old one to expire.

can be done --- costs around R250 - R280 - i know mtn calls in Number Swap - dont know what vodacom calls it.

You stand corrected! You learn something new everyday (and so have I)

Hi there. Yes you can and I have done it a few times for my clients upon their request. It is not available for Top Up contracts though. You have to be on a weekender and up the last time I did it. The charge for the number change gets charged to your account and will be going off with your normal debit order. This is for VSP clients....not sure about the other Vodacom service providers.

Why don't you rather get a pre-paid for now and when it becomes your primary number (when all your main contacts get used to the number), then you can take out a contract on it. The existing number can be used to make calls as it is already a contract, and cancel it after the 24 months are over.
