Changing storage on Ipad

That looks a bit iffy, and would at best be him taking the storage from a broken iPad Air 2 and moving it over, doubt that it is economically viable for most.

I don't think changing a screen is the same as removing and replacing soldered NAND on a logic board.

It's obviously not, but there are enough videos online to help you. Everything is available under that screen.
