I've just been charged R639 for march from iburst. It's a debt order that i've ALWAYS checked to be paid.

i'm month to month.

Any what the %^$%^ is this R170 for "maunal invoicing" ?!?!?!?!?!

Even more shocking is that this is dated 3 of JULY 2007... only got the email today... 1 month for an email to go though? yeah...

Internet banking for the win... statements since feb ready for printing :D

I also received a mysterious invoice & statement today. Sigh, gotta love that accounts department. Who is the best peep to speak to there?

I'm going to there head office in sandton in about 20mins, just need to print my statements, let you guys know (i'll tell them i'm not the only one with this issue)

Yeah, well hopefully this is a sign that their accounts department are pulling their fingers out their a5ses :D

How much have you guys got outstanding vs. what package you're on?

So they're still at it, they seem to have accepted that I owe them nothing as I've not received a statement yet, unless it's still otw.

It's not their fingers up their a5ses that bothers me, it's their heads up there that they will never be able to pull out.

ok here's the deal:

the R170 is the "upgrade fee", but because i upgraded before the date - they are giving me a credit note

the march charge is because something messed up on their machines and reported that all the march payments bounced when they didnt - call them to fix that up (seems rather wide spread)

the statements are wrongly dated to the day the bug reoprted it bounced (3rd of july)

their accounts are getting bombarded by people with wrong amounts, so be patient if you cant get through right away

finally, the server of theirs, due to the accounts department/scripts - has fallen over (aka crashed, died, blewup) so you might find an even bigger delay in accounts department. It fell over while I was there :P

urm credit note??? make sure they deduct it off the next month else you'll never see that credit note!

I've had a credit note since november 2006 yet they promised that they woudl deduct it off my december account... I'm still waiting for the deduction...

Their credit note is worth squat, get them to reverse the payment.:(

So in other words if we do not call them and they owe us money they'll let it slide and forget about it.

As for the system "falling over"....yeah right I believe that bs coming from that bunch of incompetent idiots, what other ISP or for that matter company has so many problems in their accounts department month after month as these idiots do.

Can we get some legal entity to go do a full audit over there?

I mean, if a bakery sells food that poisons people you can have them shut down. Why not shut down a company that feel they can do whatever the f they want to your account?

Well, the thing is that the R170 hasnt gone through onto my statements yet, so if the credit note doesnt come through with the debt of R170 then I get them to reverse it, but for there books it's just easier to credit it.

Also being over billed by iBurst this month looks like.
This is plain ridiculous. Maybe I am going to have to check past invoices as well now.
Mistakes like this are called THEFT.

I'll be keeping an eye on the debit order that goes through.

If they do over bill the way they're proposing I'll have to prepare to sue them.
I think it would be the best option.

And that's why I'm posting, anyone else want to join in a court case?
Companies can't make mistakes like this without it being advertised as robbery.
Please message or e-mail me I'm in.

They better be careful with their debit orders, this thread should be enough advertising for iBurst to
lose a lot of business. And it's plain well deserved.

Shame on you you iBurst.

dude if you read the terms and conditions... they have the right to bill you incorrectly...

I will never be gullible again. I will never be gullible again. I will never be gu...

LoL

They sent me bills today that made more sense than last month, the amount I owe them is correct, but the rest of the statement is still mathematically incorrect...

So you're saying they're signing people up so they can legally steal from them? Is that a legitimate company?
Is that allowed by the South African court?

I think if a company over bills clients regularly it's not only company theft but, should it be proven in court, a company that shouldn't be allowed to operate. Or maybe all the organised thieves can now start companies with fraudulent contracts so they can steal from their clients under a brand name that only provides an alleged service?

A contract to allow a company to steal from you is not what clients sign up for when they buy ISP services (Internet Access)
at advertised rates (to their knowledge).

Meaning I didn't sign up with iBurst to get stolen from, but instead to be provided services at a stipulated rate. Otherwise iBurst is misleading the public by saying they provide Internet Access as advertised when what they're really doing is stealing from people.

That to me isn't an honest company at all. Am I not making sense?
THIS IS GETTING PRETTY OUTRAGEOUS.

I haven't looked at my statement yet, since I don't have time, like most hard working people. When I do I'll post you back.

This account problem WILL and DOES hit every customer of iburst at some stage or other, even if it's months after they leave.

Reason for that is they do NOT know how to run an accounts department EVEN with insisting on debit orders they still can't get it right and even mess that up.:(

This is what you get when a company employs incompetent unqualified "people" to do the work.
You can be sure that this "accounts" department has singlehandedly lost quite a few customers for the company as well as dragged it's name through the mud.
My main reason for leaving iburst is because of the accounts department as well as the way the company is been managed by unqualified "people".

Anyway it turns out they did me a favor since for 2 months now I've been on ADSL which makes iburst look like dialup with both browsing and downloading as well as a lot cheaper.:D
