Hi guys,

What are your opinions on the various case fans out there? I do need to replace 2 of my case fans (80mm) as they have become noisy as hell now.

Which ones should i be looking at? I see they range from around R50 upwords.

Any recomendations?

2 x Cooler Master blue LED 1200RPM and are like R100 (dual pack). Think they have 80mm too if you can't fit 120mm.

The new Cooler Master Sickleflow 120mms are nice, but 2000RPM so slightly noisier.

get the biggest ones you can - the bigger the fan the slower is needs to turn to move the same amount or air, and thus the less noise it makes.
My lastest powersupply came with a monster 140mm Fan, but all my others ( drive coolers) are 120mm

If you ever wanna go watercooler, i have an can fouch for the thermaltake reserator 2. It simply works.....

I am after some Noctua NF-P12-1300 120mm fans, but at $22 a piece and with a local distributor who does not believe in returning a call I reckon I might still be getting the Coolermaster fans.

Just about the most silent fan I've heard is the new on on the drive cage on the CoolerMaster Stacker 830. Absolutely quiet. It's just that over time the stupid ball bearing and sleeve bearings get scratchy, so I want something different.

Eish ... Noctua didn't get much a good review in that bit-tech.net review.

That bit-tech article gave a nice review on the Scythe fans.

But.... Aarrghh... why is that when you decide on a product then inevitably there is no local supplier for the brand or just "partial suppliers"?!?!

Just looking at those Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm fans. Was thinking 2x 1850RPM units (2mmH2O static pressure it seems), 6x 800RPM units (1 on each drive cage and 4 on the side panel). Do the math and there's "positive pressure" or rather an excess of air in the case. Never sure how fans handle backpressure, but anyway.

There are different speed Gentle Typhoon fans, but cannot tell if they just limit voltage inline or whether it is the actual motor which is different. Looking at manufacturer site would suggest a different motor.

I think the Cooler Master R4's are frigging awesome.

I they push 90cfm at around 19db.

Can probably get them between $10 - $20 depending on where you buy from, but they're really worth it.

IF they actually push that much. There's quite a bit of discussion on them in the H50 thread (or more like moaning):D
