For those of you who use Chatgtp, have you run into the issue where it refuses to load images? The image box appears but quickly vanishes, this only happens when I log into my account, it loads images when I am using the free version, very frustrating.

It can generate images and display links to images but it cannot show images directly on Chatgtp, I have run through a few troubleshoots with Chatgtp.

Images will display if I am not logged in, I have tried Chrome and Edge and it is the same issue, I have tried mobile and Wi-Fi, it makes no difference.

1️⃣ App Rendering Bug (most likely)​


The app loads the image container but the UI refresh removes it.

🌐 What a CDN Issue Is​


A CDN (Content Delivery Network) is the server that stores and delivers images.


ChatGPT loads images from domains like:


  • oaidalleapiprodscus.blob.core.windows.net
  • cdn.openai.com
  • files.oaiusercontent.com

Your app briefly shows the image container, but if the phone cannot retrieve the file from the CDN, the UI removes the image.

⚠️ Common Reasons CDN Images Fail​


1️⃣ ISP filtering or routing issue
Some ISPs block or poorly route certain CDN servers.


2️⃣ DNS issue
Your phone may resolve the CDN domain incorrectly.


3️⃣ Network firewall / router filtering


4️⃣ Temporary CDN outage



This is more than likely the issue, I have already tried changing DNS, changing browser settings, and network settings.

I don't see why my ISP would be blocking this.
 
Do you have any kind of ad blocking or DNS filtering on your network or phone?

I had Popup Blocker which is disabled, no DNS filtering that I'm aware of, it works fine when logged out.

Is this in a browser or in the app? On VPN? If the latter, delete / reinstall. If the former, try a different browser app / incognito mode / different device. If on VPN, disconnect / change location to South Africa.

This is on Edge, it does the same with Chrome and on the Android app, I have tried icognito already, doesn't make any difference, no VPN and location is on SA.

The only thing I can think of is there is some sort of account restriction with Chatgpt, but I cannot find anything under settings that would cause this, I am currently on the Plus plan.
 
Weird. I can see images in it, but sometimes when it generates things it will only give you a link though. Maybe you have a cookie problem, try to do a force refresh with ctrl + F5 and/or clear your cookies.
Edit: Multiple browsers doing it is weird...
