Russia Today: Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez has once again accused the United States of playing God. But this time it's Haiti's disastrous earthquake that he thinks the U.S. was behind. Spanish newspaper ABC quotes Chavez as saying that the U.S. navy launched a weapon capable of inducing a powerful earthquake off the shore of Haiti. He adds that this time it was only a drill and the final target is ... destroying and taking over Iran.

:wtf:

Even for Charvez that's too insane

I thought the rise of the Obamasiah would bring an end to these tensions caused by U.S warmongering :erm:

Lol. I think the yanks would have tested something like that off the coast of Venezuela

what a whackjob. This guy makes fruitcake look like caviar.

Not long ago he was the highly admired socialist leader standing up to Dubya's evil empire.

Sure we won't hear from his admirers in this thread. The dreaded amnesia returns

Typical tinpot material from a crackhead. Must be doing heavy drugs if he actually believes the stuff he just said.

Alan: Amnesia is a pre-requisite for Chavez supporters... :p

I wonder if he's referring to the sonar weapons? They kill dolphins, they don't shift tectonic plates.

You boys want a nightmare? Go read "Earth" by David Brin :D

Plot introduction
Set in the year 2038, the book is a cautionary tale of the harm humans can cause their planet via disregard for the environment and reckless scientific experiments. The book has a large cast of characters and Brin uses them to address a number of environmental issues including endangered species, global warming, refugees from ecological disasters, ecoterrorism, and the social effects of overpopulation. The plot of the book involves an artificially created black hole which has been lost in the Earth's interior and the attempts to recover it before it destroys the planet. The events and revelations which follow reshape humanity and its future in the universe. It also includes a war pitting most of the Earth against Switzerland, fueled by outrage over the Swiss allowing generations of kleptocrats to hide their stolen wealth in the country banks.

The scope of the story expands vastly as the plot gradually reveals itself, bringing into question the future course — and even the survival — of humanity.

[edit] Predictions
Brin set this novel 50 years in the future from the time he was writing, using the book as an opportunity to predict what technologies might — at that future date — be taken for granted day to day. Three technologies he predicted came to pass within only 8 years of the writing, include a media-centric, hypertext Internet, e-mail spam, and the proliferation of personal video recording devices.

Brin claims at least 15 predictive hits in Earth including:

the World Wide Web (including it as being a major news-media outlet, complete with videos and discussion forums) and blogging. (Brin did not predict the URL, rather using a clumsier numeric form of address.)
may have influenced the name of a popular micro-blogging service: "the twitterings of data and opinions on the Net are my subjective world."[2]
e-mail spam and sophisticated personalized filtering software
levees breaking on the Mississippi
the dissolution and partitioning of the Soviet Union. Though most contemporary scholars were fully aware of the Soviet Union's impending collapse by 1989.
global warming associated sea level rise and severe storm seasons
subvocal input devices
sophont-made black holes considered seriously
crisis habitat arks for endangered species, with a view to later restoration to the wild.
eyeglass cameras
the erosion of personal privacy
eyeglass overlays on real environments
personality profiling through brain imaging
art sculptures on a geologic scale
decline of delivered mail
lawyer software

I wish I had some of the peyote Hugo Chavez is popping...

You can't just somme go and start an earthquake. It takes decades for the pressure to build along a major fault as the continents crunch around - it takes a long time to build up, and it has to be released eventually. Underground nukes have been known to induce premature earthquakes, but honestly... that's probably better than letting the pressure build until it releases itself. Which it eventually will.

I doubt the US has built a weapon capable of significantly altering the direction of continental drift...

Chavez makes rice cakes look like cereal.

... or something like that...
I think

That's right, Hugo Chavez, the US did cause the earthquake. Now you had better behave or Venezuela is next!

erm, off all places, why target Haiti? its a bloody dump

Because nobody would miss it?

The most humane thing we could do for the Haitians is to euthanize them. There is no way relief can get to them fast enough.

Only if a jew pushed the button. ;)

Don't be surprised if they do apply that type of spin to it, anything goes when attempting to stab the "big evil infidel empire".
They'll be out supporting mad Chavez, because any enemy of the "big evil infidel empire" is a friend of theirs.

Interesting. I would not put it past them :D. When a country can drop chemicals like agent orange on their own troops and drop the only nukes in history they could be capable of anything :D. That earth quake machine they took from the russians has never been again hahaha.

I just hope they do not stop our core :D
