Do any of you know where I can buy a LCD tv without the guys ripping the ring out of it............... :D

I'm looking for a 32" LCD tv for somewhere around the R10k mark.

check out Incredible Connection, at times they DO have 32" LCD's which could fall under that category.

will a 24" Dell Widescreen suffice for your needs though?

Your local electronic department store? or maybe check out bidorbuy.co.za

LOL, I nearly choked when I saw "10k" until I went back and looked at the "R" sign, I for a second thought you meant $10,000.

I've got a 20" flat screen CRT tv at the moment so I would like to get more PUNCH FOR MY BUCK if you know what I mean. Wouldn't want to go smaller than a 32". Considering a 37" plasma as well but I thikn LCD is probably the way to go........?

**** - let's stay with R10k for now yes , I actually thought of getting friend to buy in US but with the exchange rate as it is now vs warranty and import duty I doubt if that is a viable option !

damn, never heard of Tobishi

For R10K, I'd suggest looking at Plasma rather than LCD. Cheaper LCDs tend to be older technology panels. You should be able to find a good Plasma for around R10k, something like the Panasonic 37".

there are 32" Acer LCD TV's for R13k. I think its the closest i can find to your R10k mark.

but if the Panasonic 37" plasma is for R10k then get it, though it aint HD it surely looks pretty.

I think it'll be very stupid to buy something thats not HD compatible !!!!! I checked all over but the plasma's start around R12k and then it's pretty ****ty........

Morning , i looked at the Acer model with the response time is 12ms. Not good enough hey - 8ms is available in pvision / Sonic / fujitsu siemens etc etc. I see at coolroom.co.za the pvision is available for R10 150 and the specs are pretty good..........?????

You could always import it and declare it as a gift ;) works great for me.

then i suppose you will have to dig in to that model? what inputs does the pvision have? component and.... ?

Y/Pb/Pr , RGB , DVI. I don't think that there is a better value for money option...........????

not really. for that price. i vote yes. :)
Can we really vote on this? :p

Why don't you just spend 6k more and get yourself a 40" samsung like this

well, he WANTS something for R10k, so thats the best he can get. For R16k i would go for the Sony WEGA @ R15k.

Which one? Remember that the cheaper 42" Sony is a LCD projector.
