Hey everyone.

Just got capped  So got myself another account quick for some online gaming bla :D

HOw do i set up the router now so that only i can use it ?? Ppoe dont work for me as its a netgear and cant bridge it :)

THANKS :p

Create another windows account with admin privileges and use it there?

click start>run

Type in cmd, press ok, type in: ipconfig and press enter. Look at the Default Gateway, which should be under Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection.

Go to your browser and type that default gateway into the address bar, for example: 10.0.0.2 Press enter,

You should know the username and password, if you don't read the manual, if you are still using the default password, change it. Look at the router options until you see your account details, replace it with the new details, voila ;)

start->run->ipconfig will self terminate. Rather start->run->cmd then type ipconfig.

Creating a new account would be much easier for privacy issues though. He could also store all his porn there if he doesn't want anyone else accessing it ;)

edit: Mypro-D sorry didn't see that you couldn't use PPPoE. Go to the Raspppoe site, if I recall there's a howto there on how to configure your machine to us raspppoe.

I kinda had a typo, just edited it before you replied HGP :p ;) :D

I don't understand this account thing? I've got two Admin accounts and it both uses the router? ;)

Okay lol, I missread it. If the router can't bridge, you are screwed, finito, you can't do anything ;)

What if i turn DHCP off and then only allow my pc,s ip to connect?? woulf that work or not really :)

Yeah I didn't read the pppoe part too. Easiest way is to bridge your router and use pppoe.

That would work, but why do you want to punish the other users? you capped it! :p
