I would like to take my girlfriend somewhere for a weekend, don't want to spend too much. Saving for a deposit on a house. Any suggestions not too far away from JHB?

Absolutely a great place with loads to do within short driving distance. Self catering or eat at the restaurant.

U didn't say how much you budgeted for, but going on cheap you would have to settle for pay per room instead of pay per person which would be more expensive.

Muldersdrift. They have a lot of guesthouse and lodges in the mountains. Google is your friend Or Harties. Same thing.

Also out near Nelspruit - the Sudwalaskraal Hotel, by the Sudwala Caves, is decent and very reasonably priced.
