Cheap Whatsapp Phone

hey guys. I am in the market for a secondary phone for whatsapp but it must have a physical qwerty keybpard. 3g and touch screen would be a plus but not needed. So far i saw the Nokia C3 and that seems the best.

I would prefer an android phone to the nokia but I cant seem to find one. All seem to be full touch. I know there are a few chinese brands out there but I am on mobile this week so browsing is not easy.

Any suggestions?
 
The only chinese one that i found via this forum is the Dapeng A9000 which works out to about a grand
 
There's not many full keyboard phones available these days, but there are a still few androids that have them. Off the top of my head, theres the Sony x10 mini pro (slide out keyboard), samsung galaxy Y pro and the HTC Cha Cha (facebook phone) - all 3 are cheap.
 
The 4Home store in Goodwood have Telefunken smart phones but the speech quality is not good. Looks you get what you pay for. I got my pa a Nokia C5 off Gumtree for R500.

The Nokia C2-02 is a slide out (dunno if its qwerty) keyboard and touchscreen. Goes new for around R900.
 
incredible connection and 8ta store got the defy for under 1k.
 
Check out the mobicel phones at game, c n a , jet etc. all under a grand. Also have an android model, and comes with nifty headphones and in ear phones

I saw this at a price of R1,150 if I remember correctly, at Clicks, earlier on this week.
Think that's about R400 off the price they were not so long ago.

Also, look at the Ackermans brochure out now, prices valid until 31 Jan. 2013.
On the Cell C page showing pre-paid phones, there are a few 2-SIM phones which have ''Facebook'' and/or ''Twitter'' listed as being available. Presumably, Whatsapp as well ?

The phones are :
Samsung Pusha 2-SIM @ R299
Samsung CH@T 222 (E2222) @ R499 - only this has a QWERTY keyboard.
Nokia 112 @ R499

None of those phones can run Whatsapp.

Look for something like the Nokia Asha 303 or Samsung Galaxy Y pro, I see the Nokia Asha 201 is R699 prepaid at Cell C, it's basic but can run Whatsapp

nokia asha 201 seems ok for 700. I actually saw a friend who had an mobitel iphone know off running android. It was actually a good phone. I will go to game and jet and browse.

will go check in clicks for galaxy y pro
 
There is a reason why so many people in sa got blackberries. They are cheap, got the keyboard, does run whatsapp (if you are not into bbm) and there are touch screen models too.

Personally i'd go for something like the galaxy pocket or experia (the water resistant phone ) if i want cheap. Neither got a keyboard, but got all the other android goodies.

Hence closest alternative is a blackberry...
