New Apple Watch SE launched

Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 6 with additional health features and a new low-end model called the Apple Watch SE as it looks to extend its share of the smartwatch market.

The cheaper SE costs $279. It uses the S5 chip from last year’s model. The lower-end device competes more with watches from Fitbit Inc., which has agreed to be acquired by Google.

That 20x improvement in performance (based on a metric no one can test) is great and all for the 6, but 18 hours of battery life is still garbage.

I wonder how that works with the new sleep monitoring feature. Strap a powerbank to oneself while one sleeps?

Supposedly a mere 1.5 hours till full charge, so guessing they want you to remove it at breakfast and dinner for charging.

One of the biggest things holding me out from an apple watch is battery life, everything else is pretty much as good or better than the competition, it was already plenty smooth. I'd need about 3 days battery life to consider.

I have to charge my smart watch once a week and even find that a bit tedious.

No thanks my Dixon lasts 3 weeks per charge. I'll rather get a Huawei GT2e.
