Cheaper DStv PVR installation deals coming

Industry sources have also said that MultiChoice is working on introducing the ability for subscribers to have three viewing environments on a single installation.

LoL, that would be great. This past weekend I found myself flipping channels anxiously between rugby, cricket and tennis. With PIP mode on my tv I can view 2 channels at the same time. Could use my pc monitor for the 3rd. Just need to make a plan with the sound still.

Geez, you certainly are some sport junkie.

Hello Monochoice
Here's my installation deal... I DID IT MYSELF (*AMAZING*) for R0.00
Dumbasses!!!

From DSTV FAQ:
WHY CAN I NOT SELECT AND PAY FOR CHANNELS I WANT TO WATCH?
MultiChoice does not provide a customer channel selection for DStv packages, as such service will be more expensive to our customers and is not a viable business model. There is not a single pay television operator in the world which allows its customers to choose individual channels.

From Tatasky's website:
Tata Sky DTH – Make My Pack
Choose your channels and make your own bespoke DTH package!
Tata Sky DTH service now gives you the power of selecting individual channels to make your own bespoke DTH package. Choose channels on an a la carte basis and create your own DTH packages or mix-n-match by adding individual channels to your existing genre based DTH packages.

Once you lie to me you're a liar. End of story. Giving me a discount on a DSTV installation and then charging me a fortune for a subscription is no different than what MTN and VC does with phone contracts. The sweetener of a "subsidised" phone is used to scr3w you with exorbitant call rates.

Go away - Netflix works for me.

Hang on.

How do you get PiP with DSTV?

Hold strong guys, there is definitely a hint of desperation starting to show. The signs are showing more by the day. Subs leaving from online stream are ever so slightly chewing into their monopoly. This is another sign of "making it cheaper" for you, while in real life not really. If only the sports lovers stay behind, that will still be a big blow for them. Naspers share price has been under real preassure the last 2 months.
May the force be with you (not mc).

Wow! And looking at their website(tatasky),to make your own package you need a minimum subscription of Rs165(R28.71) and thereafter the likes of History Channel,Discovery,Cartoon network,Disney XD,English movies etc etc etc @ between Rs 8 - Rs 50(R2.00 - R8.00) per channel packaged and here this...

such service will be more expensive to our customers and is not a viable business model

The absolute greed by these Corporates is mind blowing and a basically go and scr3w yourselves attitude.
