cheapest ADSL connection possible - what are the options

Im trying to navigate the telkom website, and its DOG SLOW...

What are the options? It needs to be CHEAP, that is the priority. 1mb connection + capped account will be fine.

Looks like the free modem/router & installation promo is still on until end Dec subject to a 24 month contract.

NB: the R169/mth excludes the line rental - confirm total monthly costs with Telkom.

I'd say the +/- R1,500 you're saving on the modem/installation compensates for any line discounts you might get from another ISP and 5Gb capped/mth is always handy to have should you go uncapped with another ISP.

Edit: of course, if you're looking short term rather go mobile with 8ta or Cell C.

MWEB has a 1mb uncapped plus adsl line rental for R339..though this exludes phone line rental

Still pretty good pricing..

The telkom special deal was probably fake. Myself and friend got shocks of lives when we received unexplained bills from telkom despite that first 3 months were free. Ended up cancelling the whole thing. My friend is still being haunted by telkom lawyers after refusing to pay for the 3 free months.
