Cheapest cellular deals in SA

Should do a new article on best value for money...
There's no point going for the cheapest network when you get the worst service.

Cell - cheap, bad service\coverage and average support
Vodacom - very expensive, great coverage, average support
MTN - expensive, decent coverage, average support
Telkom - cheap, great coverage, bad support. (quite good in store though)

I'm switching from Vodacom to Telkom Mobile next month after testing network coverage, quality and price across all networks.

Doesn't really work that way. Different networks have different coverage in different locations.

FNB (CellC) has great coverage here, and MTN doesn't. The situation is location dependent.
 
Does anyone know how to get the amazing-sounding package advertised on the radio (where telkom rips off the cell c advert)? They talk about a Huawei P8 with unlimited voice and a good data bundle for under R400, but I can't find that deal on their site

In the T&C's, unlimited voice refers to unlimited calls telkommobile to telkommobile only and also only for first 12 months. It is a BS advert

Understood and fully aware of that but still doesn't change how I feel about Cell C though :p
Everyone I know on the network struggles with it.

I get full HSDPA with Cell C at home but terrible speeds, dropping calls etc and the same thing happens at work.
You should also find a few posts on MyBB about average speed test results that was done and Cell C always seems to fail.
With them, you pretty much get what you pay for.

My wife switched to FNB (CellC), and has never been happier. It all depends on the circumstances
 
MVNOs can have lower costs without any infrastructure or capex.

Only thing you can be sure about is price.For coverage and service it varies.I have great Cell C network where I work but no Vodacom reception at all.Anybody that visits us on Vodacom always battles to make calls or use data.Its the opposite in other areas though.
 
Cell C data throughput in my area is horrible, Basically can't even load webpages on my phone!!
 
So kind of like comparing CellC with CellC with CellC. I bet they all suck mostly
