Cheapest credit card

Yeah. If you pay the CC off every month then Virgin is best.

You could get a Capitec card if you don't need credit as you can use them like credit cards.

So, who has the cheapest credit card out there?

Want to get one with small limit (2k) exclusively for use on Internet.

Thoughts, suggestions?
Have you considered just having your bank issue you with a cheque card? Online retailers are happy to accept those for purchases.

+1 It is a savings account that can be used to purchase online as if it were a credit card.

I use it regularly for this purpose.

Thought about that but then it's linked to my main account - so if anything goes wrong (like PSN being hacked again) then the miscreants have access to my primary account.

This way, I effectively firewall my finances.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - going to try the capitec route.

Thanks for the reminder, completely forgot about that and thus no need for credit card! :D But if I wanted to get one it'll be Virgin!

Virgin Money - while a service like VC pay might work, at least using a VM credit card will have a positive reflection on your credit record

Apologies for the thread hijack.
Can anyone confirm that you have charge back protection with a cheque and/or debit card as you do with a credit card. I am under the impression you do but then see this under paygate merchant agreement.

Reduce Your Risk By Accepting Debit Cards On Your Website With payD

Accepting South African debit cards online is a great opportunity for merchants worried about the risk of chargebacks usually applicable with a credit card transaction. With payD from PayGate, its like an ATM transaction and you don't have the usual credit card risks. With this reduced risk, accepting debit cards via PayGate with payD is ideal for selling air tickets, airtime, expensive computers and electronic equipment and other valuable goods.

So which is it?

If you have a MasterCard or Visa Card (Maestro/Visa Electron) , you have charge back protection.

The reason they say merchants can reduce the risk, is because of fraud.
Fraud on Debit Cards are more difficult since you need the debit card pin (the new MasterCard cards from Capitec doesn't work this way).
