South African dedicated server price comparison

A critical aspect of business in the modern age is establishing an online presence. South African companies can get a dedicated server package for their online business or develop an app for as little as R1,490.

While there are alternatives, such as cloud hosting services, which are flexible and robust, these can get expensive quickly, depending on your needs.
 
Might not be the cheapest options. Going for a self-managed server is the best low-cost server.

We recently changed all our Cloud and Dedicated servers to unlimited traffic. Servers come with 1Gbps symmetrical connections. We are likely the only hosting provider that supplies unlimited traffic @ 1Gbps with no fair use policies.

Domains and Absolute.
 
Came here thinking I would see way more AMD and cheaper prices. Thought Xeon processor was replaced with AMD threadripper long time ago.

Thanks for the mention @Rickster

With the introduction of our EPYC VPS servers there is no longer a need for dedicated servers and we’ve removed them from the store, although we do have a few tins left over for special request.
 
Vs Hetzner these are a joke, non get close.
Plus so many with shitty small traffic allowances usually even when they say unlimited.
 
All the servers listed there are for self-managed dedicated servers as per the tables heading. The heading of the article is titled "South African dedicated server price comparison" and yet the Register Domains SA company (as per their website) don't even sell dedicated servers. Only Cloud VPS servers. The article even explains the difference between dedicated, cloud and VPS.

And yet they include the Register Domains SA Cloud VPS in the table as part of the comparison?? That's not comparing apples with apples at all.

Also that cost they mention for the Register Domains SA servers is not even accurate. As per the article it states that the server is R1720 but on their website checkout page for a medium server on register domain sa, the price for the medium is R1120.

Then looking at Afrihost, Their self-managed bronze server is R1120. So why are they saying it is R2050?? Its also not a 2TB drive, it is 2x1TB in RAID1 effectively giving you only 1TB of storage. Where did these numbers come from?

Additionally, the server mentioned for 1Grid is actually 32GB of RAM and not the 8GB of Ram mentioned in the article and again it is 2x 1TB HDD in RAID 1 effectively giving you only 1TB.

I see the article updated but only for Xneelo...

Afrihost is in fact the 2nd cheapest dedicated server. The table also doesn't compare link speeds. Unlimited traffic at 100Mbps and Unlimited traffic at 1Gbps is quite a difference. Also the website is a bit outdated. Those are minimum specs but they give 2 x 2TB HDD now with newer spec super micros and asus DDR4 and DDR5

What a poorly written article. Just looking at the first provider in the table, you say Xneelo has a 2TB SSD.
With what RAID setup? Surely you can't just assume everyone will run RAID 0? The hardware is in fact 2x 1TB SSD's.

Also, how on earth are providers still providing HDD's are a primary option?

And nothng from RackZAR?
