cheapest local bandwith

the speeds will be the same on both saix and is accounts if the content you are downloading is uncached, but in my experience you connect faster to IS news servers than the saix news server.

Can anyone share their experience (frequency of server downtime, download speeds, etc.) with usenet download speeds on IS accounts. The "Linux ISO's" I want/need are on usenet

I'd like to compare the cost to speed differences of IS and SAIX based downloads through usenet on and ADSL line.

I realised that the newshost site was started mainly to inform others about which files were cached on the IS server. as it still exists I can only presume that the speed of uncached files are still considerably slower than through SAIX accounts.

SAIX servers are pretty much overloaded all the time and sometimes it takes days before u can connect. With IS you connect quicker but u dont always achieve full speed

So how fast is full speed? The max of your line, or is there an IS speed limit on their side? Just wondering, as upload speeds are usually far lower than download speeds...

I'm keen on a 384 line w/30gig local account and torrents to usenet/openportal/whatever else to keep me up to date on all the new ISO's.

Any experienced users got some comments on how much local is enough? 24/7 uploads+downloads might require 2*30gig accounts, which is still reasonable. I think that is about the limit on a 384 line...

I'm not picking on you. Not at all. It is just that if I take all the posts in this thread, your posts are the only one that sticks out like a sore thumb - because you cannot spell at all and do not know anything about grammar. But you still claim that your first language is English?

Just taking your post above as an example...
"Why pick on me alone!" is supposed to be "Why pick on me alone?"
Children I know in Grade 3 does not even make these mistakes anymore man.

How can you fix these problems? Learning how to spell might be a start...
Secondly you can download FireFox 3 and use that - it is superior to IE (imo) and has a built-in spell checker.

Fixed it for you
