"specs dont matter"? So its OK if I get you a 486 with 10MB HDD and 16MB of RAM?

Well wootware and loot have really cheap box PCs (excluding screen, mouse and keyboard) for R2 500 and under.
BUT you won't be able to do much with these PCs, maybe browse the internet at most.

Buy a refurbished pc / used?
If specs don't matter and you just want to check email and watch a movie it's almost pointless buying new. What you're going to spend on low-end components you can probably rather spend on the same priced mid-range components in a used pc.

Just need to open up a web page and refresh every 60 seconds.. had them running on rpi's but they seem to dies every 6 months, so now that I am running + 5 of them dashboard it makes send to just use a basic pc with linux..

Have been down the chromebox/chomebit rout as well as the andriod stcik route and hp microserver(gfx cards are a problem)...

just looking for a cheap pc that will last 2 or 3 years..

with the option to fit dual head gfx card.. which i have a bunch of

Raspberry Pi OK?

Current running 3 instances on pi's but they tend to die after 6 months.. so I am 18 months in and have to replace 2 pi's

I am now doubling the 6 units and there is a possibility ofd using dual screen to have 3 better units.. so lookinf for somthing new that will last a bit longer
