Cheapest prepaid mobile data prices in SA

What should be noted about Telkom Mobile is that their bundles expire at the end of the following calendar month.

R139 for 2GB starts looking very attractive.

Below are the best prepaid mobile data prices in South Africa (month-to-month, upfront annual purchase, and 12/24-month contract deals have been excluded).

Pity that's excluded since it is by far the cheapest way of getting prepaid data. If you pay upfront via an Internet Starter Pack on Telkom Mobile that 500MB bundle ends up costing less than a third of the price over the year.

Afrihost comparitively gets more expensive on the larger packages. But the picture changes when one adds Afrihost Plus to the mix.

Cell C Giga 200 R999. 50+150GB valid for one year.
How much do you waste on unused buundles? Giga 200 is the answer.
Just do SIM swap immediately if you want LTE access. These packages are very old.

I thought those were data sims and as a result can't be used for voice calls.

They are normal SIM's preloaded with data bundle (like Internet Starter Packs from Vodacom, Cell C, Telkom). I can receive calls on the handset connected to my router, so they are voice enabled. I will check later tonight if I can change tariff.

Intersting. I'm using my third CellC Giga sim at this moment (in a router), but never realised they were activated for voice as well.

In such case I feel free from checking it myself. :)

This is really daft, Axxess wins mybroadband isp of the year and they leave them out? They are by far the best data deal with 3 month roll over, and use the MTN network the same as afrihost.

It's not for prepaid sims AFAIK.

Afrihost leading here a few and a few 2nd and thirds and as most of you will recall, that was the case with their uncapped adsl bundles around this time last year.

Since then though, things haven't been the same as Vox and other players enter.

Afrihost mobile data user myself, as I'm an mtn user. Hopefully they keep it up
