Cheapest reliable EPP Registrar (co.za)

The previous policy idea of crediting losing and charging gaining registrars was just flawed. I'm very glad this was changed to keep some form of sanity!
 
I know this is a slightly old thread but I wanted to ask if EFT payment is still available with Domain Cheap?

Hiya,

We do accept EFT`s via Payfast from most major banks in South Africa :)
 
The cheapest and most reliable EPP registrar that I have found is http://www.domainstation.co.za

I currently have around 30 domains with them, and all has been great.

They also offer telephonic support if needed, all in all - highly recommended

Judging by the wrong information provided in the FAQ's, I would question their EPP knowledge.
I see they also selling the free open source epp module for R900 and R250 p/m.
They have no actual infrastructure of their own, they seem to be on a afrihost vps.

Suspected as much but without wanting to fork out R900 to prove it I left it as is.

Hi this post about one of our hosting sites came from one of our clients.
We have been hosting for over 15 years and have several dedicated servers, and yes some are with Afrihost we also have a few servers with Hetzner as well as a few dedicated boxes in the USA.
We are not selling the opensource version, we have developed our own version using the coding supplied by WHMCS and the EPP code which is freely available online and at the coza EPP site. We did also try the free opensource module available for a few months but is fell short of our requirements.
You are welcome to try our EPP software on trial and see for yourself if we know what we are doing or not....

Your domain "domainstation.co.za" was only registered on the 1 May 2013
Your domain "africawebsolutions.org" was only being registered on the 29 May 2013
According to your company registration, your number is 2013/096500/07 which means African Web Solutions was only registered September 2013 and you have been hosting for 15 years already... wow, that's interesting. And in these "15 years" you have never grown to the point of actually owning your own infrastructure...?

As per your own comment on the WHMCS forums "the open source one is quite good, we used that while we were developing our own without any problems." - In other words, you edited the open source one and are now selling it as your own.

Yes that particular domain is new, and if you search hard enough you will find about 9 more hosting companies/businesses that are also registered to us and operated by us - Our original (and still running successfully) hosting business is crazyhostingsa.com
We restructured and brought investors on board that's why the new official company registration.

As for the code, we got the code directly from WHMCS which is freely available for anyone to use with a bit of coding knowledge and yes we did look at how the open-source one from linuxassist was structured we also used 2 other sources (also available at the WHMCS forums) of the same module and combined all the best features of the 3 and added our own routines in as well to get to a module that works with all the features we needed for all our hosting companies.

There are only a few hosting companies in SA who actually own their own infrastructure so not sure about your rant about that.
Our focus is client support and not greed/profits like so many of the so-called big companies.

Do an anonymous survey and you will find very few hosts in SA actually own their own infrastructure.
