Cheapest SA Email Hosting?

Just wondering if this might be cheaper

Sure, it will be cheaper...

BUT, you have to build and maintain your own mail server, both SMTP and IMAP/POP side.. SES was designed as a bulk mailing solution for you to build your platform on..

The already setup and working email solution from AWS is called Workmail.. $4 per user per month with a 50GB mailbox..

Cool, I don't have much experience with setting up mail servers, so pardon if it doesn't work out well.
Considering the large amount of documentation, e.g. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/workmail/latest/userguide/using_IMAP_client.html I thought it would be rather easy.

It's not difficult by any stretch of the imagination.. Some logic, a little brain power and elbow grease will get you there..

It's more the overhead that comes with managing the setup and the added cost of the cloud server you are running the mail server stuff on..

WTF is up with this being so expensive for so little in return (100mb wtf is this 1998)?

Gmail can offer 10+ gb for free...
You must know Gmail ain't for free. You just don't pay in cash. All your mail and data belongs to them. They comb through all your stuff many times a day, profile you, and then sell your profile to others. That's how Google make their money.

Gmail's price is far too high, and it's not one I'm willing to pay.

I don't think the OP wants an email service that takes complete control and ownership of his mails and data. I certainly don't.

I'd think Office365 because most use Office products too.

Went to the gphost website, to register for hosting it's asking for my website. I just want to register for email.

Do you hate the OP?

Why for the love of all that is good would you suggest an ISP with the worst service and support?

@OP - give Domains.co.za a chance.
I moved most of my AH clients there and we have not had a single problem/no downtime/excellent support and pricing is more than fair. (Remember you get what you pay for)
Sometimes you don't even get what you paid for!

Hi @NeonNinja

So every hosting package (email hosting or web hosting) requires you to have an active domain in order to make use of it. If you would like to have an email address like "[email protected]", you would be required to either register the domain exampledomain.co.za or if the domain is already registered at another provider, update it's DNS accordingly. Let us know if you have any further questions regarding this.

Our checkout process requires you to provide the domain you would like to use for the email service you are purchasing upon sign up. If you need a new domain, please select "Register a new domain" and enter the domain name.

Please note that there are charges involved for domain registration and renewals and they have to be renewed each year.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Link to the product page for your convenience: https://www.gphosting.co.za/email-hosting

Thank you.
