Cheapest way for ADSL and Gaming

Hi Team,

I'm looking at saving some costs on my Internet Usage. Currently on the Telkom line rental (R189) with my DSL line and 4mb Uncapped Data at Mweb (R449). This ends up at R638 per month. My usage is on the low side as I can download/update my games at work but me and the lady also like to Stream (youtube and online tv sites) so bit hesitant of going on a Capped package.

Going on a 1mb Uncapped line wouldn't be ideal for Streaming and online gaming might have a negative MS/Ping. I would think that a 2mb line with a capped package (30gig maybe) would be ideal. :wtf:

Do you have any recommendations?

I have a 2MB line, capped.

Capped packages are so cheap now, and virtually everyone is offering this free midnight data.

I game a lot online, and my ping is fine. No problems. USA & EU servers.

I do not think that 2Mbps will be that great for streaming though.

You can always look at the Vox FatPipe lite for R89 a month for 25GB and add the uncapped bolt on for R59 which gives you uncapped from 6pm to 6am and 6pm Friday to 6am Monday morning.

Think that would be nice for you. You might want to sign up asap as I just noticed it will be discontinued from 30 November.

Thanks for the tips guys. Whom is your line with? I don't see that Mweb gives an option for only renting a DSL line. Afrihost seems to be the cheapest 2mb line rental but then....how great is their network :erm:
