Ok well I have just kicked off the installation, straight forward and I made sure I selected a new install and not upgrade. sweeeet
Edit: Eish doesn't look good, the first install bombed out saying the disk is dirty trying cleaning it, if look at the disk right on the end it has this brown almost burnt looking area, fsk know what is is but could very well be the reason. Dunno where I will get new discs if these dont workGiving it another try.
Yeah osx tests the disc before installing, sometimes if you skip the test it will still install normally, so when it says "verifying disc" just choose skip to go ahead with the install, if the install fails you'll need to order new restore discs.
Also since this is a second hand mac you should run a diagnostic first, just boot your mac while holding "d" down with the install DVD in the drive.
Verified twice now and both times it has bombed out![]()
Don't reckon its worth skipping this if it can't verify the disks.
Where do I order new disks?
Thanks

I already tried to burn a new disc on windows, but when I pop it into my mac it cant understand the disc. So I need to burn it on the mac rather, but I cant seem to find any burining software lol![]()
It's called disc utility, you can create images, burn images, format hardrives etc, comes standard.

To burn a disk right click in any folder or on the desktop and create a new burn folder. Place your files in there then burn it.
Im also not sure why your mac cant understand your windows burned disk, Ive never had tht problem before.
You didnt inadvertently click on "secure empty trash" did you? This is pretty weird but I am trying to empty the recyle bin and it takes forever.....There is a hell of a lot of stuff in there but surely it shouldnt take this long. It says Items to delete: 63,601 and it ticks down 1 at a time verrrry slowly. Lol this could take DAYS!
