Cheapest way to get Windows 10 for a Mac.

Yes yes I know, sacrilege, but a colleague must put Windows on his Mac for specific Windows only software used for work.
So having no previous Windows 7 or 8 licences to upgrade from, which will be the cheapest way to get Win10, simply buying Windows 10 Home or Pro from the Microsoft store?
I see Pro is R3599 and Home is R2355 which is a bit more than expected. Any cheaper options, fancy tips or tricks to get it for cheaper?
 
Forgot to mention, Windows 7 pro will also do, it doesn't have to be 10, will obviously have to be 64 bit, Professional or Ultimate.

I need rock solid, no funkey business, that's why I say even 7 will do. I read up a bit on the insider program, seams you must have Win 7 or 8.1 in order to get 10 on the program, seams you can't just get 10 from scratch if you don't own some sort of previous license.

At that price buy a cheopo laptop instead of screwing up his Mac.

Then the shlep of having to carry around 2 laptops comes in. The Windows will get installed on a 64 GB SD card, so it won't have the opertunity to "corrupt" the MacBook.

It might have changed but I recall registering for it without any license at all.

Could always get a key off some old laptop or PC.

But it's been years now.

It is rock solid. You could always test it and see how it does.

Buy a product key if you need one. Won't even need to reinstall.
 
Buy a key from g2a.com or check on Carbonite.co.za. If it's a Windows 8/8.1/10 key, only use Bootcamp to get the drivers. Use Disk Utility to partition and install Windows as you would on a PC. That way you get Windows to run in pure EFI mode and not BIOS emulation mode. For Windows 7, install using Bootcamp.

That method will result in not being able to use the keyboard to proceed past the personalisation screen as Windows won't pick up any input devices. Just install Windows via Boot Camp Assistant.
 
You can install Windows 10 without a key.

I ran a copy without activating it for a while and it continued working, it just won't let you do certain things and will have a "Activate Now" watermark at the bottom right of the screen.

I installed Windows 10 using this method on 3 different Macs (Mac Mini, MacBook 2015, MacBook Air) and all installed without the issue you mentioned.

The cheapest is free. Assuming you can disable UEFI boot in BIOS, it works like this:

Install Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate then DAZ loader. Validate online, then upgrade to Win 10 withoout entering any keys. You can also generate genuinueticket certificate on the copy of Win7, then do clean Windows 10 installation (my prefered way).

ComX computers has licences for Windows 10 Home for R1955. You can get the ISO from Microsoft (I never thought I would utter such words :o ).
