cheating and the reason behind it

Men cheat because they want variety, same reason they watch p0rn. Its not rocket science

So I would like others to give their view as to why guys cheat on their woman.

People cheat for various reasons , offhand IMHO:

Bored with partner ,familiarity of routine, always the same , friends , family, restaurants etc , nothing new
Lack of stimulation, intellectually, sexually, coversationally, new partners are therefore exciting and different
One partners change of life goals, dreams and aspirations, one partner wanting to settle down the other not so keen.
Sexual incompatibilty, maybe one partner tired of same positions or sexual routine, one partner not enjoying a sexual act as much as the other, i.e. oral sex,giving or getting, anal sex, sexual experimentation or aids, toys, dress up etc, etc.
One partners libido being higher than the other, this normally doesnt appear in the early stages of relationships , but manifests over a longer period, putting a strain on the relationship as whole.
The thrill of the chase, the excitement, the anticipation, all the firsts for everything, makes people feel alive again.
Re-affirming they are still desirable and wanted by the opposite sex.

cheating is usually about lust.

Sometimes it is also a matter of getting tied up in a moment, where you dont see the full package. You just see a girl who you can have sex with, there is no issues, hassles, nagging insecurities etc etc
I think that appeals to people in the moment. I also think there is something about having sex with someone where you can be completely selfish and explore things that you otherwise would not do with your long term partner.

On very small occasions, you might do it because you really have found someone who you may be more compatible with.
But most of the time its just getting in the way, and the idea that something different might be better
