No, but you're judging them that it sounds like you did. I also love Rebeltech and Wootware service, and those are very hard to beat.. But, if I can find components for cheaper at a different place, I'll give them a go. Only after I bought something from a retailer can I judge their service.

I see you haven't got Sybaritic on your list. Maybe give them a try and then we can continue this discussion.

I do believe that anyone will shop where you get the best service. To me the price doesn't make any difference. If you get a good price AND good service to boot - even better. So lets wait a while and see. . . I am sure we will get enough feedback on the forum ;)

I've bought from Sybaritic once, didn't have bad service from them at all. However, like I said, I mostly base my decision on cost, that's why I don't buy from them anymore. Luckily Wootware and Rebeltech has great prices and service as well. Same quality of service, at a cheaper price, why not?

Techimport has the best prices atm, that's why I placed an order, based on price. The same component costs R400 more at Sybaritic, R400 is a lot more. And since I can't judge Techimport's service yet, that R400 is a risk I'm gladly willing to take.

They have the Dell U2713HM for R7,199. I know the cost price of this monitor and I have to say that while the markup lower than than other sites.
I just wonder why it takes 2-3 weeks to have the Dell monitor shipped to your premises when DCC is based in Limbro Park, a mere 45 minute drive from PTA East. Your lower mark up will earn you more business but people want their stuff ASAP.

As it stands I am already upset with another online retailer due to the time its taken them to get me my stuff. I ordered everything yesterday morning and even though I paid for overnight shipping I will apparently only get my stuff on Tuesday or Wednesay

All I see is another dude throwing up a website then using your money to import an item where you could have saved even more to just as easily import direct, same as importitall or wantitall or youtolazytoshopoverseasall.

If his prices were say cheaper than buying yourself, then yay awesome, but you can easily save R1000 plus if you buy any of these refurbished laptops direct.

I think I'll have more difficulties buying a R9 280X overseas and importing it to RSA, then buying it through them and waiting.

Well, I'm not much of a regular here on MyBB, although I've been registered for a while. I have been around for a while though, from the good old ActionQuake2 days over 56k :p, more active on carbonite truth be told.

Anyways, I've placed an order just shy of R50k from this store, and will update this thread as it goes. So far all is good, and Albert is rocking on his communication. I'm optimistic that all will go as promised, and look forward to dealing with him in future if this goes well.

I've traded with Rebeltech/Wootware/Landmark/Phoenixtech/Computersonline before, and I wish Albert all of the best, but he has some serious competition there - they have all given me excellent service.

One thing I can say though, if excellent service is prevalent all around, us - the consumer - can only win. Also, if service is on par all around, cheapest will win, and there TechImport seem to have 1 up on the competition.

No contact details.
Not registered with CIPC.
Sure, the website looks nice, but that's about it.

You won't find my store at cipc either unless you know what registration number to lookup.

Oh and I also don't have tel contact details either.

My idea of a successful ecommerce startup (side business especially) is for it to be able to run 24/7 by itself without having to employ teams of people to answer phones.

Isn't that the business plan for every online store? For it to generate sales and ensure the service or product is delivered on time with minimal back and forth correspondence required?

Customer interaction and updates are indeed super important and so far sales and enquiries are good regardless of what the contact page reflects.

So the ability to contact a company and receive almost instantaneous replies via email or social networks in 2014 isn't sufficient?

Don't get me wrong, I just feel times have changed! If a site looks okay and offers decently priced products, has a clean track record and all your enquiries are actually responded to within a reasonable time, you're still going to walk away and discourage people from doing business with the store? I'm sorry, but judging a company just by looking at its footer and contact page doesn't make much sense to me at this stage.

Guess there's still a lot to learn... eish!

The telephone number is not needed, but it must be available (e.g. in the T&C's), the number associated with the business registration address.

Our company do not display any numbers, except in the T&C's and to comply with legal disputes, we do however provide help desk numbers to our customers within the SLA terms and every consultants work mobile number.

You want success, then agree with the law.

The entire sites prices are reduced for month end specials. We have also lowered shipping charges :)

We have added a product finder(in testing) which will make looking for products easier. (Please tell us what you think)

Hope to see you guys there soon! :)

Under nvidia cards - I see the 4gb 770 from gigabyte retails for just R70 more than the 2GB version. Typo or part of the specials? Better be a typo, since the 2gb version price is absurd.

Hi guys,

I know there is still alot of question marks. And I fully intend to give you the peace of mind that you need.
CIPC has been busy registering this company for 2 months on end now, and has only now confirmed the name change with me.

Rekelek cc t/a www.techimport.co.za (undergoing name change)
774 Swavel Street, Wingate Park, Pretoria, 0153
info@techimport.co.za
Reg No. CK98 21282/23

I dont have any other contact details on there, as the sheer volume of calls I receive per day just from my corporate clients allow for no more room to handle more calls. If you are a serious buyer, just email me, and I will phone you.

Thanks a million for checking out the site, and I really appreciate any and all feedback (positive and negative) :)

All the best,
Albert Nel

I'm going to be keeping a very close eye on things here. Especially because of the EVGA products that you're advertising. Things feel a little jumbled at the moment but there's all the time in the world to improve navigation :)

Thanks Wesley :)

We are working hard to get the navigation sorted.

Been playing with the EVGA stuff lately, and its alot more involved than some of the other brands, but once you get it up and running, the results are certainly there :)

Albert :)
