Checkers Sixty60 versus Pick n Pay asap!

Did you have to drive to pick and pay to get a loyalty card before being able to use the app?

...you can use the app to swipe the card. Whether or not you still need the physical card is another story.

Second time using Checkers Sixty60 and it works like a charm. However, their choice of alternatives is a bit of a dog show. Ordered a pack of 4 fresh mielies yesterday and got a 250g frozen pack!
While I never set them, they showed as available and would have been in the shop. Seems to be a bit of a quick grab at times.

I love it. Often use it when I'm too busy to go out/babysitting my children and wife is working.

Only once did they muck up with an item, they credited me and told me to keep it.

OK, so is it easy to complain then? I just left it yesterday. It is painless though. App works really well.
And they didn't screw up the bottle of gin I had bought. :)

These services are great but unfortunately let down by the behaviour of their scooter drivers, who are obviously under pressure to deliver quickly - They drive recklessly, ignore red robots and speed between traffic.

I've used both services many times and its great, but stock availability is a huge issue. I normally max out the 30 item limit and almost always get 25 of the things I asked for.

Also the items I do get are ones I would have never purchased myself, like the super green banana's or pineapples...makes you feel like you were ripped off.

I've never experienced this stock shortage issue in store only on the delivery platforms

I gave up trying to register on the PnP app. It was like applying fora job with references

Smaller selection on Pick n Pay BUT

Free delivery from Pick n Pay in August.

Checkers charges you a higher amount to cover the difference in price for substitutions.

I have never seen a refund from checkers. I am not the only person. This issue has been mentioned on social media & hellopeter.

It is why I stopped using Sixty60 as well. I've never received a full order, something is always out of stock (not shown in app) and the actual selection of items is very poor. While not going to the shops is convenient, I end up having to go anyway to get the items they were either out of stock of or were unripe/rotten.

It is worth noting that my nearest Checkers is a dog show at the best of times and I avoid it in person. I wish you could select your Checkers, because there is another one 2km down the road that is far superior and I'm sure would do a better job of filling orders.

If there is no real alternative available to select, then I always select 'no alternative'. Don't leave it up to the store.

The prices are identical, except for the sugar. Does this hint at price collusion? I'm asking for a friend.
