There is still a charge though so OP will have to cough up a little for peace of mind, it was R100 for a full report last time I checked.+1.
Note you need the VIN number and Engine Number of the car also.
1. Car Registration Number
2. VIN Number
3. Engine Number
4. Licence Disc
5. Name and ID number of seller.
Go To Police/Traffic Department to check if all information in order and not stolen. Then Go to the above link to verification and any issues with Vehicle(Bank on-hold, stolen, accidents, etc).
