Cheque payments are rapidly becoming obsolete

I still don't know why there are people who go through the effort of using cheques. With the small amount of cheques that are still being used, you would have thought all of the banks would have just stopped issuing them by now.

Will you be surprised to here, that year to date Bankserv have process over 4million cheques? And yes, in 2018

Was chatting to some friends about banking in the US. Their banking is so backward that "checks" are still the preferred method of payments in the USA. EFTs are not really a mainstream thing there due to the nature of banking there. I was pretty surprised.

I am surprised our banks still support cheques.

started working in 2000 and got a cheque book.

i think i only ever used the one when people would want to see a copy of a blank cheque

I never had a checque book, my dad had one till probably a year or 2 ago, but these days also only use cards.

I remember my grandfather always wrote out cheques with a special pen, not sommer any cheapy pen.

I knew a very rich farmer oom who always said if you use a card people will think you don't have money and that's why he uses cheques.

Same here. Mine was even issued in a nice leather sleeve. Been in my cupboard for ages, might as well just dispense of it.

I have never paid anything with a cheque.

Have been paid with one a couple of times and it was a traumatic experience.

obsolete by design because you priced them out of existence.
