Okay, so yesterday, my company vehicle was traded in and we got a new Chev Corsa 1.4 bakkie.

My question for this vehicle at the moment is, when the fuel light comes on (to signal I need to put petrol in), how far can I push it before I really need to fill up.

I'm not aiming to do this on purpose, I just want to get a general guideline of how long...

100km ?
50km ?

I would fill up and see how many litres were in the tank. That way you can work out how far you could have travelled on what was left over.
I think 100km is pushing your luck. I'd bet on 60-80km

I am not sure the amount but I have a 2007 opel corsa utility,
and the light goes on.
some while later it starts flashing.
Then I usually hurry to the closest petrol station.

Did a trip to Botswana and my light came on and I did about 100km and then the thing started flashing (almost k@ked myself because I have never had it that low) I still did about 25km then got 5 litres of petrol but driving at about 80-90kph. So who knows could have gotten more.

I have the 1.8 so you might get more or less on the 1.4.... I normally fill up when the light comes on.

No, obviously, I fill up as well, but I do panic when I go over... just want to know a ±

I would never push more than 40km - but once my boss did... went all the way to Stellies with the red light on...

On my Conquest, the light goes on and we still drive till the needle is about 2.5mm past the line. Problem is you fill fourty bucks then and you still on reserve.

IMO around 50 km but a good test would be filling when it comes on and working difference based on average consumption

My trip computer usually says about 80km left when the light goes on. I've only ever driven down to about 50km left.. I get really stressed with that little light lol. :D
