Chevrolet Spark 1.2 LS 2011

Hi guys (Apologies, I'm not sure where to post this), I'm looking at buying a Chevy Spark 1.2 2011 second hand. I am currently going through OLX and I found quite a few going for R45-50k with about 140 000 km on the clock. Is the pricing more or less right given the age and mileage and also considering it's a private seller or should I simply stay away (potential scam?). Thank you

Have you looked into spares? I have a Spark, I didn't realize it at first but spares are hard to come by and are expensive.

I got the old shape. 2009 model, with about 90k on the clock when I bought it last year Dec for 40K. Private sale.

The pricing from private sellers are mostly fair because they aren't looking to make a massive profit out of the deal, having said that the risk of scams is very real so make sure you have your wits about you going into such deals. The pricing is right since maybe the sellers were offered far less than that at the dealers.

My Fiance had a spark, 2005 model, very sturdy car, incredibly economical on fuel and just goes and goes! She had 130 000 on her dial and sold for R25 000. The car was in need of a major service and new shocks though.

You have the older shape one though.

That does seem fair but looking on autotrader they want a lot more, my wife has a 2014 model and it just keeps going, sure it's only done 30k and servicing has been reasonable + it doesn't have a cambelt.

True, I suggest OP get one under a service/maintenance plan if something should go wrong.

That said, I love this car. No serious issues and you can literally park it anywhere lol.

Your best bet is to look at liquidcapital, SA warranties etc...

Surprising for such a small car, also the seating just seems to be right.
