Chicken Livers

I have a killer recipe for chicken livers:

chicken livers
Dirtbin

The rest of this recipe is pretty self explanatory...

However I will concede that the pate is really good :

Fry them with left over bacon fat, garlic, onions
Add salt and pepper to taste
Allow to cool
Add butter and brandy/cognac
Liquidize
Refrigerate

That on toasted Bruschetta is awesome!!!

add a boiled egg to the mix and it's awesome taken to the next level ;):D

damn, guess I'm making some pate on the weekend now :D I wanna try that stuffing a boiled egg with the pate too .... sounds yummy.

I love chicken livers.

I braai them... wrap em in bacon with a piece of cheese (tiny piece), maybe have them marinated, depends, and then braai them :D

yuuuuuuuumy

Nonsense! It is about spicy, not burning yourself into a different dimension.

ROFL!

Of COURSE it is about burning yourself into the next dimension! "Spicy" is for wimps! Where you from??? Not KZN one assumes. ;)

I know you don't want a recipe for peri-peri chicken livers, but I could sure use one, if anyone has a good one. TIA!

My mom fries it with onions until the onions are almost burnt. I could never get it the way my mom does. Its really yum. I prefer the peri peri livers though.

When in Moz, I had the chance to eat chicken livers for lunch one afternoon.

With chips.

Liver 'n chips.

Yum. :D

One of the guys was so disgusted he just ignored it... the other guy just ate the chips :D

Real Moz style chicken livers 'n chips :D

I only eat it one way.
Fry the livers in olive oil, garlic, onions and bits of bacon ( I mush the livers in to smaller bits I’m not crazy for the whole liver texture)
When the onions are glazed chuck in some mushrooms fry them just a bit to get the flavors going.
Chuck in a can of mild and spicy chakalaka and one hot and spicy. Depends on how hot you like it.
Chutney to get the sweetness going.
Basil and spices to taste.
Lots of black pepper.
Salt to taste.
Simmer till everything is nice and cooked and the flavors have talked to each other.
Serve with pasta.
Now I’m hungry again:o

hot chicken livers on toast are the best. Failing that, fresh Portuguese roles.

Can never get it like my mom makes it, but then who can?

I add some curry powder, or those those curried chillies in a jar from Packo.
