Child bombers seduced by 'paradise'

Pakistan: Taliban brainwashes kids with visions of virgins

Nawaz Kot, Pakistan (CNN) -- "When we got to this compound it was shocking for us," Lt. Col. Yusuf tells us, standing in the middle of what the Pakistani military says was a brainwashing center -- for children.

It was here, according to the Pakistani military, that children aged 12 to 18 were turned from innocent youngsters into cold-blooded killers, willing to blow themselves to bits as suicide bombers.

The discovery of the compound was first reported in Pakistani media last month. Yusuf says his unit took it over after a three day battle with militants.

Part of the compound consists of four rooms -- each wall adorned with brightly colored paintings in clear contrast to the barren and harsh landscape surrounding it. The children were told that this was what awaited them in heaven.

Each of the images has a river flowing through it. Some have people playing in the water. Others have women lining the banks.

The military says that the children are told that these are rivers of milk and honey, that the women are the virgins that await them in heaven. That the children were told that they will live in the company of the holy prophet and be served feasts.

CNN - says it all, maybe these children don't like the idea of a bunch of yanks who try to exorcise their power in the world on others?

I watched a CNN programme about a week ago, saying that the Muslim community in South Africa attracts Al Qaeda...... its full of American's anti islam propaganda.

And thats all you have to say after reading that:confused: Eish......

Previously South Africa wasn't under America's watch list. Now it is because Pakistanis are migrating to South Africa then travel to the US + UK with a SA passport.

Yeah shame they'd all rather have the Taliban. No doubt you'd disapprove of them removing poor mad Bob as well

What are you smoking

How else do you get children to think it's a great idea to blow themselves to pieces? I sincerely doubt any of them think death is cool at all and therefore the deal must have some meaningful benefit to them on some level. Propaganda you say? I sincerely doubt that the US, in particular, cares at all what faith you follow. Infact they are extremely liberal about that - what they care about is how your beliefs impact the next person which I feel is fair. Why must bad news about the negative radical islamic activity be boiled down to anti islamic propaganda?

Look, they sponsored these guys in Afganistan during the cold war, they dropped them like they dropped SANDF during Angola, but unfortunetely the Taliban/Al Quada/ Islamic world is a lot less forgiven then we were,

America's chickens have come home to roost and these children are without doubt a product of their doing, sadly.

They have no authority to remove people, what makes them so much holier then the islamic people? I do not support Islamic ideology, but I can understand the reasons (apart from the religion) behind their hatred for the American world.

I don't smoke, nor do I believe everything I read/see on CNN :), in any case that was one of the programmes they ran on the soccer 2010 world cup, total bull****, to us but hey, americans buy it.

I guess the Islamic world value different values then we do, as rediculous as it might seem, the spartans for example didn't see freedom as a value in their cultures. These children are being indoctrinated from a young age, it is a sick sittuation.

Actually, the US needed reason to esstablish their presence in Iraq (oil didn't cut it), Afganistain (anti communism and a sponsorship to Al Queda/ The Taliban kinda got stuck in the past century) and now Pakistan (because the Afganistan problems spread wide)! and these type religion bashing articles is one way to do it....

I don't care what the circumstance, I don't care what the reason - any culture or group that considers children as weapons should disappear from the face of this Earth.

For sure the US has shown to some degree, the 'need' so to speak ... to publicly justify their infiltration into the middle east. However interms of 'anti ANY RELIGION propaganda' ... discussing training camps for kids is hardly good enough reason to venture into the area (and they are already there anyway), besides that compound was first reported by Pakistani media within Pakistan. CNN really wasnt reporting anything 'unknown' there. I honestly just think it was just a shocking story that the reporter felt would be worth one's reading and that not too much needs to be read into it, as all that does is upset people needlessly.

its been happening for ages, they only bring it to their attention now in order to justify their presence. I don't know how a community can be driven to the extent where they put their children with a detonator, it is really just a sick situation.
