Not the foreign policy "experts" here.We are able to have more than two thoughts in our heads here.
Fair enough, do you think China would agree to Taiwanese independance if Taiwan vowed not to allow US military bases or installations on it's soil?I'm not in a position to say if they should or should not, on the one hand there should be intervention for the greater humanity aspect and keeping the peace, but on the other hand there should be a respect for internal civil matters.
I personally think having taiwan becoming independent shouldn't be such a big deal for china, but then given the whole five eyes operation driven by the usa it wouldn't be surprising for the usa to install military bases and missiles in taiwan, and then you have the whole cuban missile crisis on repeat. It's no secret the usa wants to suppress chinese expansion, economic and military, whether rightfully or wrongfully.
Again, I don't see how it equates to meddling. Taiwan surely has a right to have anyone visit if they choose, do you think Pelosi visited without the consent of the Taiwanese government? In the same vein, criticism of the foreign meddling is not an approval of the ccp (the majority of the chinese population is relatively powerless at the moment to make substantial impact on decisions).
Of course, you are the person who believes that war should be avoided at all costs, even to the extent of rolling over when another country invades you.No one is pretending the CCP is a democracy. But to provoke a military response from them is idiotic.
Am sure there are better ways to do things from a western perspective, plenty of bad policy decisions over the years, but no argument from me. But yes, am a fan of democracy and human rights, countries like China and Russia aren't, it would seem to be an obvious choice on which is preferable. Why is the (so-called) West's overt Imperialism better than something else?

The fact that one tired US politician visiting is seen as provoking a war shows just how much people bend themselves in knots to appease the Chinese.Provoking a war when you know there is a diplomatic peaceful option is criminal (Ukraine and now Taiwan)
Escalating war and sending more young men to a needle death as in Ukraine is wrong.
Ever heard of the concept Détente ?
To call any attempt at negotiation appeasement is stupid. It's not how conflicts end.
The ignorance is so bliss over here. Since Obama's pivot to Asia strategy the USA has been arming the pacific to the teeth. They have basis in Okinawa equipped with missiles that can flatten Shanghai in a blits.
For China to invade Taiwan with its mountainous landscape that has been fortified for 70 years would be a more expensive landing than the invasion of Normandy.

Utter pish.
"Biden has armed the Pacific to the teeth"
As if China hasn't armed itself either? And the US has armed the Pacific to the teeth since WW2. Fundamentally nothing has changed in that respect.
"Flatten Shanghai ..."
As if Beijing doesn't also possess weaponry that can flatten Tapei in a "blits".

Yup, all pretty horrible, and if a majority of Hawaiians want independence to form their own democratic country, I would say best of luck to them.
Lies.. The US empire will crush the independence violently and any 'hawaiian' that doesn't want independence is clearly a traitor and not a true hawaiian.Yup, all pretty horrible, and if a majority of Hawaiians want independence to form their own democratic country, I would say best of luck to them.
As much as the lady in that tweet is passionate about her cause, I don't think most Hawaiians feel that way.
Funny thing is people who live there don't really feel its tyrannical.Defending tyrannical regimes like China isn't a good look.
Free blankets for all!Lies.. The US empire will crush the independence violently and any 'hawaiian' that doesn't want independence is clearly a traitor and not a true hawaiian.
