Fair enough, do you think China would agree to Taiwanese independance if Taiwan vowed not to allow US military bases or installations on it's soil?

Again, I don't see how it equates to meddling. Taiwan surely has a right to have anyone visit if they choose, do you think Pelosi visited without the consent of the Taiwanese government?

Am sure there are better ways to do things from a western perspective, plenty of bad policy decisions over the years, but no argument from me. But yes, am a fan of democracy and human rights, countries like China and Russia aren't, it would seem to be an obvious choice on which is preferable.

Provoking a war when you know there is a diplomatic peaceful option is criminal (Ukraine and now Taiwan)
Escalating war and sending more young men to a needle death as in Ukraine is wrong.

Ever heard of the concept Détente ?

To call any attempt at negotiation appeasement is stupid. It's not how conflicts end.

The fact that one tired US politician visiting is seen as provoking a war shows just how much people bend themselves in knots to appease the Chinese.

As if China hasn't armed itself either? And the US has armed the Pacific to the teeth since WW2. Fundamentally nothing has changed in that respect.

since Obama's pivot to Asia strategy the US has created more military basis in the area and kept fueling the fire.

Lies.. The US empire will crush the independence violently and any 'hawaiian' that doesn't want independence is clearly a traitor and not a true hawaiian.
 
The situation of Taiwan is quite unique, another comparaison was Alsace Loraine after WW1. But it doesn't really get close.
