Hey guys the new G&R album is supposedly fantastic, we can expect it 24th november. First single is out and I think it ROCKS!!! What do you think ??

.....i've had it for about a year now.... been leaked for a while. Will be interesting to see whether the final versions differ.

I hear the version they sent out to the radio stations recently is very different from the one that leaked a year ago. Then all the guitar work was done by Bucket head, now only a few tracks with bucketheads work exist. There are 12 leaked songs online, of the total 14. Hopefully it will rock as much as the first track does!

Yeah I only got 10 songs....

Better
IRS
There was a time
Catcher in the rye
Chinese democracy
The blues
Madagascar
Rhiad and the bedoins
Oh my g_d
Silkworms

Well those were the leaked names... so they may change too. Will be interesting to listen to the leaked versus the final version. Which is the first single you are talking about?

Oh, i'm very hopeful, not least of all because the people now in the band are exponentially more talented than the original line-up.

pos(t)er, thats a very dangerous comments you are making!! I don't think any of the line up are better than the original, but def better than some they had in the past... Exp bumblefoot/buckethead vs Gilby Clarke, but no1 is better than SLASH!

Ya if you're a fanboy.Ok i'll desist from going into that sort of argument, but yes i am def. looking forward to it.

Ps:The current guitarist, Ron Thal is >>> Buckethead. That's all i'll say.

Yip, bizarre comment poster... no one will be able to match the originals... that is the problem Axl faces. Yes, he was part of the face of GnR but Slash was essential and even Duff and Gilby were the real thing!

It is going to be strange to see what happens. You will have all the old GnR fans in their 30's listening to the CD and reminiscing but I wonder if he is going to win over new fans? I was listening to it today and have to say I am in two minds. I want to dig it as it is "my" GnR that I loved but it does not immediately grip me... I switched over to the new Metallica and it made the GnR seem even worse! :)

The tracks i've heard are definitely different than the previous albums. And it should be.

If you're really that nostalgic about the classic G 'n R then there' s always Velvet Revolver.

BTW, LAnce i've heard the track "Oh my god" won't be on the album.I believe it's going to be quite different than the leaks, which is why i never bothered with them.

Yeah, poster I hear you but as a fan I'll listen to anything they put out... :) Even bootlegs...

I have not watched that YouTube link but what is the name of the new single? Listening today I quite liked "Catcher in the rye" (?) and IRS is cool but very much in the mold of Spaghetti Incident to my ears.

I have heard Velvet Revolver but was not too impressed. Hey, I even bought Duff's solo album and Slash's Snakepit! :)

It's either the title track or Shackler's Revenge. Both have been listed as the new single on youtube.

According to chinesedemocracy.com its chinese democracy. With regards to Velvet Revolver, its just not the same without Axl!!

Well, I'll wait for november and then give my humble opinion, so far it has been pushed back so many times, its impossible for me to be optimistic about the release date.

But here I have to agree with Lancelot, a vocalist does not a band make. It takes all members of a band, and they form a unique combo.

Its like saying black sabbath was better after they fired ozzy and got ronny james dio, cause they were technically better, even though their album sales plummeted and they released some of the worst songs ever

Go get it now if you dig Axl - it is G'n'f'n'R'n'Fantastic

www.7digital.com

Buy it - DRM free - from a legit site and buck the SA Music industry that seems opposed to digital downloads. This site is legit and sells to us and has it in 320 MP3 - I got it the second it was released (I stayed awake on Saturday night just for this and was not disappointed.) I haven't listened to anything since! Get it now - R80 max... (5 pounds)

It was on 5FM the other day so we should be hearing more GnR now! :)

Metallica and GnR being play listed on local radio stations at the same time.... ahhhh times are good again! ha ha

Hehe i thought about posting here again. Listened through the cd today and i'd say it's strengh lies in the tracks that purposefully set out to be the different than the old stuff.
Tracks 2, 5, 6, 8, 9 are obvious choices in this category. Still the title track, which i'd say is more traditional(altho very souped up) G 'n R rocks hard. Still not sure whether i'll buy it(but i won't pirate it, i promise!)

This album is like Pilsner Urquel: first listen, you think WTF?

Second listen, you passing time

Third listen, and you glue your CD player shut so that no-one will ever remove it from what has just become your only playlist ever...

This I love, Street of Dreams and Sheckler's Revenge rock!

Well I have finally listened to it, and have to say WOW!!!!

I love it

I have been a huge GnR fan (got all their albums on vinyl and yse to have a ton of t-shirts and all other memoribilia (spelling??)), but had some reservations about this new album. I mean c'mon, 17 years, 95% of the original band is nto there anymore

But was completely surprised when I listened to it. It reminds me a lot of the maturity they had on the use your illusion albums, but this album just moved a step up.

I love the slower sound (tune low, play slow..CROWBAR!!!), even though the guitars are still screaming along, the tempo has been dropped a bit, to give more of an atmosphere to the headlong rush that is GnR world.

For people looking for another Appetite, don't think you would like this, but give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised, and take this from someone that hates it when bands reinvent themselves
