Chinese Tablet Buyers Guide.

we have 3 of the generic tablets from cash crusaders under the dixon name .all play store certified .clean android no bloatware .64 gig rom i think 3 gig ram. 2 of .and one 2 gig ram and 32 gig rom all work flawlessly one is now 4 yrs old the other 2 are 2 yrs old .battery life on the 64gig ones is at least 12 hours with video streaming minimum .only the bluetooth can get a bit of a delay sometimes .

Happy to import directly if I can save a buck!

Then get this job done. 2.6k duty free

If you don't plan to import then sure. lower screen res, less ram, smaller battery. For the odd 600 more I can't recommend the dixon due to the lower screen res, on a 10 inch 1920 x 1200 is the min.

Thanks wizard! Then for the shipping - two options buffalo and buffalo Agent(YunExpress) are both of these options duty free?
Not sure about the agent, buffalo yes. However there is random cases where customs does their job, but generally unlikely, so be sure to add your email address and cellphone number. The more complete your shipping info is to avoid any delays the better. The bigger the item and cost, the more likely you are going to attract attention. So don't expect to buy a 20K phone and not attract attention. Always use paypal, it is easier to dispute and get refunded for non delivery and DOA products, not that it happens often.

Thanks for all info wizard, your a godsend when it comes to this stuff. So opinion wise what ram size is a good choice, the tablet will mostly be used for google docs, mail and media. Four gig seems a bit low or will it do the trick?

You can do plenty with 4 gig.

Teclast T50 is out, Android 11, one glass solution 11 inch screen, (their new incell screens are epic, 350nits and 120 hz refresh rate) 7500mah battery, and if you want more memory 8gig ram/128gig rom. But to give you some idea, I tested a 44gig MKV file on my old teclast m20 with 4 gig ram took about 5 seconds to buffer and played flawlessly. 4 gig is plently and handle HD content perfectly.

If you going to do media and documents, 11 inch would be the way to go. That incell screen is going to be what you need.

R3800+- + plus get the cover, you won't find any thing local.

The T50 is priced so well at the moment, it makes zero sense to get the M40 air, which is 800 odd cheaper.

P30HD is also out on the budget end, but the screen is still good it isn't nearly as impressive as the incell screen. R2300+-, Only recommend this for media consumption, PDF's and large documents might experience a little lag due to lower screen responsiveness and refresh rate. On a budget this is definitely the way to go, I have the P20HD with android 10. Next year I will upgrade to the M50.

Thanks for the recommendations. Ordered the T50 and case last night. I'll give feedback when it arrives. Was still using my 2014 Note 10. Been long overdue for something else.

In the same boat also with a 2014 Note. Still a bit reluctent to order from China. Will follow your journey with interest

Yeah I think the T50 is on special right now, they usually target the 250-300 dollar bracket with the T series. The exchange rate isn't the best at the moment but for what your getting it is pretty good.

Well you don't have to order from china, it will cost more, but takealot has the chuwi Hi-pad pro for 6k (5K with shipping from china) and the hi-pad X for 4.4K

or get the M40 air from amazon, with a 20$ discount coupon.

or t40pro, which has the same chipset, ram and rom, and android 11 and incell screen as the t50 with a 30$ discount coupon. Also able to get covers for both on amazon.

Amazon works out cheaper compared to takealot but you will still pay more overall compared to directly ordering from china. If you worried about shipping from china and don't mind paying a bit more.Go for the T40pro also has the same incell screen and chipset, but here and there has some weaker settings.

First time I'm ordering from sunsky but have never had issues with the other china shops. Will see how it goes.
Total was R4413: tablet, cover and Buffalo delivery.

I've had two Teclast tablets. (gave both away)
They are not bad at all. But nothing near a proper Xiaomi Pad.

Link for best pricing for Xiaomi pad?

Thinking I need to get a tablet. Use phone mostly instead of tv for watching tv series/movies.

Yeah but double or more the price pad 5 ranges from between 7k-8k and 20k for the pro, but given the standard pad 5 has double the performance I can understand, the price. For me common sense kicks in once I reach a certain price point. I look at my needs and base it on that. I basically use my P20HD daily for at least 2-3 hours at night and more over the weekends. With youtube premium, doing music is a breeze.

For most, the pad 5 is overkill. I would say if teclast did some effort in customizing their launcher and OS a bit it would be even better, but stock OS isn't bad at all, considering the bloatware bigger firms often preload on their devices, would take stock over that shyte any day of the week. My middle ground is the M series from teclast, surprisingly the P20HD actually a great tablet for just over 2k at the time. Was on a budget and don't regret it at all. (GPU priced fked me over so had less budget)

Basically The cheapest locally I could find without looking too hard. At 7k is really the cheapest locally.

They want a lot more

It’s really hard to beat the entry level iPad for value for money.
Around 6k for a 9th gen 64GB Wi-Fi 10.2” tablet, an amazing screen and speakers, what a well made easy to use tablet. Fortunately iPadOS has also come on in leaps and bounds and it’s pretty much on par with a Android tablet from the perspective of being able to watch and manage your own content.

I was previously Android all the way but there’s no way I’d go back now.

Awesome stuff! Keep us posted, keen to hear your thoughts once it arrives.

Agree. My daughter has one for school. Screen and speakers are amazing. But iOS is not for me.
