By all accounts, he was a peaceful family man who was widely respected by millions, never broke the law or harmed others.

In what universe or by which god would such a man be condemned to hell?
 
Wow, this is shocking news. :( I have read so many articles and watched so many videos of this great man.

Honestly it is absolutely disgusting that you choose to take the opportunity of the death of a much beloved and brilliant man who has done much for this world to make a religious gibe.

EDIT: Thinking from your perspective makes that snide remark even worse. The fact that you get some sick satisfaction from the "fact" that he is to suffer in hell for all eternity, tells me what kind of person you are... unless I am seriously miss-judged your intent and tone of that comment

May God comfort his family, and may God have mercy on his soul. I say this in a well-meaning and polite manner even though Hitchens was never a fan a polite obituary.

He was definitely the most entertaining of the so-called four horsemen of new Atheism even though he didn't know much when it came to philosophy of religion (like the other riders). What's left now? The three stooges? Time will tell.
 
The man is gone but his work and thoughts will stay on for a long time.
