Yup, external HDD will also work. Basically any keyboard, mouse etc too as it’s android underneath.

It also has a really handy CEC feature where you can choose which device it should use for volume, power and source from the remote.

Can also confirm Atmos and Vision works for Netflix and Prime and from what I can gather will work for the Apple TV app as well from launch. Even the Play Movies app has DV support.

Such a mission when I tried to import these and the new Nest Audio speaker curious as to how others got it right, any and every site I tried needs a card present in that country to pay.

PayPal was a last option but they worked out equally as expensive as we could get them locally for. I'm just not keen on shelling out nearly 1.5x more for a Nest audio locally vs the internation price.......

I'll be possibly importing at the end of the month and will provide feedback.

A little worried about the overheating issues some users experienced on Reddit.

Anyone here had the same experience?

I’ve never experienced overheating.

If anyone is concerned about theirs I’ll gladly take it off your hands for as much as R350

Where are you planning on importing from? You getting someone else to facilitate the transaction? Curious?

TA Chromecast with Google TV has just arrived this morning, excited to get fiddling with it!

This adapter also works great. It powers the Chromecast and picks up the USB. Will test the emulators tomorrow morning. Too lazy to setup the emulators, now. Maybe I'll test Steam link tonight.

Probably shipping direct from Google via MyUs. Curious to see difference in costs to TA

You can't checkout to a MyUSA address unless you are using a card from that country. They don't allow you to pay using your SA card.
 
Just had a mate buy 4 for me from bestbuy. Going to risk shipping it via global shopper despite me always getting crap service from them. I might only actually use 2. Will update this thread if I decide to sell the other 2.

No overheating so far. I couldn't test the games, as it seems I was wrong with the USB. The hub powers the Chromecast, but the Chromecast doesn't see the USB drives. Tested with different drives/sticks and file formats.
 
@Tector based on your experience with the Chromecast, did you load a VPN on it and access like HBO Max and other US only stream sites?

If it works out, hows the quality and speed of the stream? Thanks.

I did load Nord VPN at one point and accessed Prime and Netflix and there was considerable lag on both using UK and US servers. Not the greatest experience especially if streaming in 4K HDR Atmos quality. I decided to cancel the VPN and just use the local versions of all apps. DSTV / Showmax have most of the Hulu / HBO stuff anyways. Also on that point had to exclude DSTV and Showmax from VPN as they only work in SA. For some it might be worth it, but not worth it for me. I was also struggling alot to get Disney+ working to no avail and I just gave up on the whole thing
