Our company is on fibre though Cipherwave, I am not directly involved with anything technical or dealing with them and there has been some relatively minor problems once or twice but all in all it is stable and reliable. We are on uncapped and I once went in after hours for downloads and the speed was significantly lower than during business hours, but not sure if that's the general rule.

CipherWave are crooks

We signed up for their business fibre service but had to cancel before installation due to no fault of ours. They demanded extortionate abortive and cancellation fees of over R10,000.

To start off with:

1. In their Service Order form, point 2 reads "This Service Order is subject to the Master Service Agreement (MSA). If the MSA has not been signed, Signatures of this Service Order binds both parties to CypherWave MSA Terms and Conditions as published on CypherWave website (www.cypherwave.co.za)". A company that refers to their Terms and Conditions as published on their website can change their T&C anytime to screw over their clients.

2. They threatened us that they will proceed with a summary judgement and cautioned us with the cost to defend their summons. The amount was too small to go to court for therefore we paid them.

Be warned of the dirty tactics that they use to extort small but significant amounts out their clients/potential clients.

What was the reason for cancellation? DFA charge a R10,000.00 installation fee which if not cancelled in time the ISP is liable for.
