Circumcision

Not just a matter of reviving an old thread after almost 5yrs, though I remained hooded, but due to some certain complications, I think I need to "de-hood". I have been experiencing some complications for the past few months when my Big Johny gets a bit bruised after each round of S*x. Mind you, I am married and have never had this before (I'm not playing away from home either:)). I'm just concerned that since I am now in my 30's whether the s*x will feel different after going under the knife? I know I l know that I need to speak to my GP about it.

Sounds like you're doing it wrong. :p

But seriously, have a read here as to what is lost in circumcision. It will probably feel different... for both of you.

While you are at it have your nipples removed as this can prevent breast cancer which is pretty prevalent in men. Unless cancer is not a big concern to you.

Would it also help if he had his prostate removed?

I mean A LOT of men do get cancer there... Just my 2c

Nipples in men perform no useful function, your prostate on the other hand does perform an essential function unless you no longer need it so the scenario is different.

Well if it isn't gone already he should definitely also get his appendix removed.

Only mentioned it because the foreskin has a function too.

I thought along the lines that if you'd remove something that has a function for no reason or just because it MAY cause problems later (In this case the contraction of STDs, which I don't think there is enough evidence of) then why not begin removing other things while you're at it.

To be fair the thread revival was by some chap in his 30s wanting a bit off the top. He's old enough to make his own cock-ups, but I'd be a lot more circumspect before letting anyone with a scalpel near my junk. Definite last resort material.

I agree with you. People use the rational that a foreskin causes problems like phimosis etc and that it is dirty thus we should remove it as a preventative measure hence my comment about nipples in males (which have no function just for arguments sake) but could potentially reduce the risk of contracting breast cancer later in life which is pretty common in men and could kill you unlike lesser conditions in the foreskin. I was just playing devils advocate to get the point across but we are in agreement ;)

He should probably have his head removed as well... as oral sex also causes cancer.

Lol lol lol, I knew I would get this reaction! Please bear with me, yeah, ofcourse I'm old enough to make my own decisions.
But it's more fun sharing it here, with you guys.

Ok, let me clarify my situation, the reason why I think I should part ways with my hood is simply because after one night of "ogy" (with my wife ofcoz), I realised that the had had some blisters (kinda like short scars around the hood) on it (I know TMO) - probably because I may have penetrated while not fully erect, this may have happened as a result of friction or something?.

I waited a week without penetration and realised that as I started to heal, the hood shrunk a bit (where there was those scars). So when fully erect, it gets a bit painful (I hope you get the picture...). I think since that day, I never really got completely healed. So I have this recurring problem whereby it is now a mission to have s*x - it's a bit sore. And when I abstain and start to heal, I guess when the skin comes together, it shrinks a bit - this scares me.

Hence, I am thinking of simply de-hooding, but I have heard some pretty scary stories regarding this....

Dear lord...does your wife hide razor blades in there that caused this "scarring"???

I suggest go see a doctor....he might be able to prescribe some cream that will help you heal faster. As for the wife, get her a bottle of good quality lube dammit! Forcing your nana into the vajajay bone dry aint gonna be kind to the skin you know.

Your best option is to speak to your doctors. Get more than one opinion on this just as you would for any surgery. This is something you can't take back if you regret it later.

Honestly I don't know why you're leaping to circumcision if you haven't consulted your doctors about the causes of your current predicament. That seems like something really drastic and silly to do. The problem could be far more severe and you could just be exacerbating an underlying condition. Seek proper medical help and don't just leap wildly to circumcision without finding out what exactly is wrong in the first place. That is just not rational behaviour.

Say no more, say no more.

A much better comment, thanks, noted. Just a bit embarrassed to explain this to my female doctor:)

from what i understand, the circumference of the foreskin has shrunk due to scar tissue, constricting the glans or something.
go to a doctor dude. and learn about foreplay and ky jelly for these "ogys" of yours.

True, obviously I wasn't gonna just rock up at my GP and demand to be circumcised. I will go to her to seek medical advice, de-hooding is a last resort. My hood is much more precious. There's a reason why I escaped initiation, 3 times! I'm just procrastinating because I really don't feel like my brass balls being handled with by that gorgeous GP of mine!

I actually know of a condition like that, but for the life of me I can't remember its name!
Its a shrinkage of the foreskin that may eventually lead to you not being able to retract it. - Well thats the condition that I'm thinking of, I'm NOT saying you have it!

From what I can recall a treatment is some cream/ointment and relatively frequent masturbation, you know sheathing it, unsheathing it, thereby preventing any further shrinkage.

This is all based off of the memory I have of a condition that I can't really remember.

So do what has been suggested... Go see a doctor! Like Now! Stop reading my post and go make an appointment! Gosh.

A topical steroid cream should solve your problem but go see your doc first for a professional opinion.

I had the snip last year, was suffering with phimosis and sex could be HELL!! no one wants a cut foreskin, plus it would be impossible to wash when hurt and would start to itch like no ones business.

After consulting my GP, he said that it will just get worse as the years go by, and after all the rubbish i had been through with my hood, i decided to have it removed.
The actual wound is not painfull during recovery, its the nocturnal erections in your sleep that get you. The first time that happened i thought i had bust a stitch, the second time i actually did bust a stitch, NOT fun!

2 tips to minimise nocturnal erections would be to use the bathroom right before you sleep, and also sleep on your side with your knees drawn up towards your chest.

My main point is i have absolutely NO regrets having it done. My fiance loves the new look and says it feels far better, as i used to hurt her down there often before the op, and on my side it feels great, far more sensation than before!
I understand everyone will have different experiences, but mine was very positive!

Still wont circumcise my kids though, reckon they should have a choice.
